Haha, I should try and ask my friend to borrow his UE tips to compare them, I got an instant fit with the stocks so I think I'm gonna stick with them. The question now is what will happen to the ASG-1's when the AS-1b arrives

LOL, you should, just for the fun of it :p  AS-1b is a lot different than the ASG-1 (according to Dale).  I think it has something to do with a bass port maybe to allow adjustment of the bass.  It may not be a port, but the ability to change the degree of bass might make a huge change in signature :p  You may end up keeping them both :)

First time I heard the Fostex T50RP straight from the box - I felt like I was robbed!!! Retail price was USD78

After some tweaking, I let go of the AKGs

Will get to hear the ASG1 really soon! :p

Oh nice :)  Let the suspense build up :p

First time I heard the PureSound Pur1000 out of the box, I felt robbed (and I didn't even pay for the things).  After I finished my review, I wanted 2 hours of my life back, then the 100 I spent burning them in back :p

For me it was mids blaring in my face with no highs or bass, very radio like and veiled. I actually like the stock tips>Sennheiser IE8 tips/CX300 tips. Note that I have the newer batch with new tips, the bi flange ones were nice but I get the best fit with the single flange ones (they actually remind me a lot of the Sony Hybrid tips because of the green nozzle)

I got so little bass with those tips that it was a bit shocking. I thought the ASG-1's crapped out on me for a second lol. Different ears man, different ears.

Yea, all orders from now on are apparently coming with the original S/M/L tip set, 1 set of the hybrid look-alike (looks only) in what seems like medium, and a set of S/M/L clear bi-flanges.
If this is not accurate, someone please correct me.

I have no intention of letting either go, it's just whether or not it will end up sitting on a stand until I find something else to compare it with. As a reviewer I don't let any of my headphones go so I can do future comparisons.

Thanks dude!
Are these stock tips?

Thick black filters. The texture is pretty hard to pick up with your eyes even in good light so I didn't even bother using anything other than my iPhone 4S camera.

y0 posted pictures of his a while back and they were a light color. There's a link to the page on the Aurisonics ASG-1 filtered vs unfiltered thread he started.

There's only one tip on them in that picture lol. It's a Meelec clear long single flange, pretty comfortable and a good seal. The ATH CKM50 tips might have a bit more clarity but my gf stole them. If anyone has any medium CKM50 tips they're not using, PM me... please lol.

I'm itching to get my kid a UE200 --- comes with plenty of tips for experiments

Haha. As far as I know, people have been referring to the tips that come with the higher end UE models like the TF10 =(
I'm about to cave and order a set for a ridiculous $10. Then to make matters worse, shipping is $6.15 so I'll probably buy a $10 plastic case to go with them so that I can get free shipping. It's depressing.

Anyone know if the tips that come with the cheaper UE models also fit?
If so, I'll just get those instead of the case to round out my waste of money.

How gracious but I'll pass. I have a second pair with me but I've already made my assessment. You go ahead and correct everyone's opinion and experience that is different from yours.

You go ahead and do that; remain ignorant of the fact that they burn in, I can care less.  Just don't go on attacking me when I say something burns in.  I'm not changing opinions, I'm just stating facts that I've found out (you can attack them, and if you've actually burned them in, I'll accept your opinion; you can ignore it; you can agree with it).  If you don't want to believe them, you don't have to.  But don't you dare attack my opinions without first going through it.

I'm a curious guy that likes to know why people hear things differently, I know they already hear them differently, I want a why.  It doesn't help either of us if you just keep attacking, but don't want to try.

LOL, I'm the same way.  Except I give away the ones I can't stand...  *cough*PUR1000*cough* or the ones I can't get a proper fit with (MEE A151 unfortunately had a resonance that sounded a lot like shoutyness).  I do give some others away as well with time that aren't as popular on the forums :)

Why not? I think replacement tips are far too expensive, I might as well get a crappy headphone and salvage the tips at that price

LOL, so true.  UE doesn't even sell my tips in a pack of 5 pairs :frowning2:  Darn extra-small ears :p  Tips are expensive though, UE sells them at 1 buck a pop (pop != pair :p).

That's why I buy a pair of headphones for my lil bros and take the tips they won't need. Not only are they expensive to begin with but because you rarely find them in stores, the shipping makes them outrageous.

LOL, so true.  I also trade the ones I don't use to my friends for ones that I can use.  Especially if they are Sony Hybrids :)  Can't ever have enough Hybrids :)
