Indeed :)
I never was an "amp" guy - but since I've heard the ZO2, I can't go back.

That said, the E11, sound boring to me - and I would have had the same opinion of "yeah its just something that amplifies your music, but nothing else" if it wasn't for the A10 & ZO2

I'm growing more and more fond of these with my metal collection. All things aside, due to the slightly emphasized bass, I can clearly follow most of the bass playing, except in bass-shy sub-genres like some poorly recorded black metal albums for example.

Loving my atrios :)! Any of you listen to EDM?

Love the bass on that especially for dupstep (which I only very very very recently started to like instead of despite). I was wondering how you guys think it compares in the speed department with others of its class. I know the CK90Pro beats the hell out of it speed-wise, also the GR07Zzzzz is faster. I know that it has better timber than both (being dynamic). What do you guys think?

I picked up a pair of Atrios MG7 to use as a portable alternative to my full size Audeze LCD-2.  I gotta say, I never expected them to be this good.  They have been getting more use than my LCD-2's lately, even during desktop use when their portability is no advantage.  They have a very focused sound which makes everything sound extremely realistic, and a very smooth frequency response which makes them sound better and better the longer you listen.  The isolation is very nice during portable use outside the house.  With small Comply tips, they are extremely comfortable and "disappear" quite nicely during use.

I may go for the MG6Pro at this rate and think about selling the LCD-2's.  I've tried the full-size phone thing, but in the end, I think a solid custom IEM probably has certain inherent advantages that I find particularly important.  The focus and realism are very addicting, and the MG6Pro supposedly solves the only real limitation the Atrios have (a boxed in soundstage on certain recordings).

Glad you're enjoying them...they are fantastic IEMs...I listen to mine almost every night.

I've currently been using the old FS1s for about 5 years now and have enjoyed them quite a bit.  I really want to upgrade and that coupon code still works, so I'm really tempted to grab the M5s.  Can anyone comment on how much of an upgrade the M5s are over the FS1s?  Is the upgrade worth the $100?

If you love the atrio, then the MG6pro is a very nice upgrade. It indeed has a spacious soundstage.

The mg7 driver in new atrios is two generations (at least) past the one in the fs1. You should hear an improvement and while value is subjective, I would say it's well worth it, no question.

It may just be that I'm still new to portable/headphone audio, but does anyone else find it weird when they prefer IEMs over headphones that are at the same price point or higher? It's happened twice to me already, and I've only been playing around with this stuff for a few months. First I ended up liking my $50 Etymotics better than my Sennheiser 518s, and then just today I sent back some BeyerDynamic DT880s since I couldn't justify keeping them over the Atrios. I'm going to move up to the T1s and hopefully that'll do it lol. It just would seem to me that headphones should have the advantage here, but that hasn't been the case. Grados are still my top dawg, as I'm just really meshing with their sound....but I love the Atrios almost as much.

I just got my MG7s and I have to say....

These things are amazing. They were pounding hooked up to my iPhone without an amp. I then hooked them up to my Fiio e11 and they pound even harder. I was thinking the bass wouldn't be good with the sole emphasis on 'sub' bass rather than mid-bass, but these IEMs are excellent. It was a good call by all who recommended these. The sub-bass is very strong, but doesn't drown out the highs. I love these things!

I'm going to get the softerwear custom sleeves now as I hate fumbling with universal foam sleeves to get a good fit. Anyone suggest getting a Squaretrade warranty on these things?

[anxious] I was right on the verge of ordering these, but they don't accept Paypal on the site. Now, I have to wait a few days for some money to deposit into my bank account. [/anxious] Here's to only a few days wait before I pull the trigger.

So I pulled the trigger on these last Sunday.  They were shipped from Canada (which I thought was weird. I'm in Cali) so I hope I get them this week.

On another note, I was playing around with my FS1s.  I've been using the comply tips almost exclusively for about a year now.  I went back to the medium dual flanges and... WOW!  It was like a whole new set of phones!  The sound was less muddy and much more clear.  The bass was more textured and clean and the highs were crisp and less harsh.  Also the sound stage opened up noticeably.  It was as if the complys were smashing everything together.

The difference was really noticeably on the song Reunion from M83 - Hurry Up, We're Dreaming.  With the complys, once the vocals kick in the highs were incredibly harsh and grating; almost compressed sounding.  I had to turn the volume waaaay down and even that didn't help.  It was so bad that I had to rip my headphones off.  It was un-listenable.  With the medium dual flanges everything is clean, even at higher volumes.  Also, the sub bass was immensely improved on tracks like Skrillex - Summit.  My jaw actually dropped.

After I noticed this, I tried everything to make the complys sound better.  I put them in backwards, I trimmed off the excess by the sound tube.  Nothing really helped.  I had no idea tips would matter this much.

At least I know what should work best with the MG7s when I get them.

I think it's pretty crazy that I spend $10 on shipping, but I get no tracking number. I would hope it ships pretty fast for that price. I hope it comes in a damn nice box too. Where the hell is that money going, if it's not on expedited shipping, a nice box, and tracking?
