lol .

It could be a power issue then. Someone had mentioned a very good PSU for the DACport LX on another thread. You may want to look into that.

Should i do an open mouse impressions again? Am i the special people who should do the close-mouse impressions? I strictly followed the UM instruction (except the biteblock was half inches.), but my left ear fitness is not perfect. BTW, i sit really still.
I just found when i open my mouse i can feel properly tight in my left ear. However, when i close my mouse, it seems too loose.
Same thing happens when i open my mouse and turn my head up, i can feel properly tight. Inversely, when closing my mouse, the seal, not broken, but has a tiny gap where the sound will bleed through.

You should probably just take open mouth with a 1 inch bite block. UM knows what they are doing.

Please don't get me wrong. I never doubt UM has a bad craftsmanship or misleading instruction to their customers. Instead, they have the best technology to build CIEMs and IEMs with 3D printers. I only said i might be one of the special.
Indeed, some hifiers mentioned there are people who open their months the ear canals will get less wide.
The fact is that my Miracle only fits when i open my mouse as wide as when i made the impressions.

What I did was use my index finger as a bit block. Not putting pressure on the finger though just resting my jaw  over it (without biting down). I have an excellent seal now on my 8As and I don't see the need for a refit. First times a charm and I'll do all my impressions this way from now on since it worked for me. I tried the 1 inch bit-block method and it ended in severe pain and headaches due to the fit being way too tight. So it is in no universal that the directions given out by these vendors will work for you 100% of the time. Actually most people tend to have fit issues from what I've seen. I can eat and not lose my seal. I can walk for long distances without losing a seal. I can lye down and not lose my seal. I can open my mouth wide and still keep the seal, flex my ears, etc lol. So the seal is very good in my case and has eased my concerns regarding future custom purchases.

So has UM responded back to you Alias in concerns to the conflicting comments they've made? I'd be really pissed about that as well... Seems the blame game is going on and all the facts aren't jiving between locations.

Yes, i think Sproketz had a very great idea written in his "Things to consider before getting your custom IEM impressions done. The perfect fit." He said "ideally for a comfortable fit you should hold your head and your jaw in the 'average' position that you will hold them in when using your IEMs."
It turns out to be very honest, at least in my own case.

Well if you feel that is the way to go then do it. I felt just lowering the amount I held my open by half would suffice and it indeed worked for me. Since the first time around did not work out at all I knew I had to change something to get results.

might go for this one for the laptop, i have Corsair HQ PSU in the PC so thats why it is not the same as the laptop.

The problem is this one is very big compared with my amp and dac that i carry in my laptop bag plus what i need for the collage :/

not to mention that size will make me looks like crazy in the class -.-''

might use it in the home though

I agree. On my second impression for the right ear, the audiologist actually suggested a smaller amount of opening so I used about a 1-1.5cm block (similar to a finger). Her reasoning was that this was a nice average between open mouth and closed so it would cover a lot of different situations - I think she was right.

Wide open mouth (i.e. large bite blocks) are probably necessary for musicians who will be singing, but not for those just listening and resting.

I agree. You also have to factor exactly how much your ear canals expand when you open your mouth lol. Mine normally expand quite a bit. Enough so to lose my seal with universal IEMs with large tips. So factoring that in it means the mold is gonna shape to a large and uncomfortable size for me. Leading to cuts/pain and headaches due to excessive suction from a super seal lol. Isolation is out of this world though ...

Mine are coming at the end of May which makes 12 weeks. Alias, if you send them back, be prepared to wait that long.

When i open my mouth, my ear canal actually will shrink.
Because when i turn my head up there will be a tiny gap where sound will bleed through. But if i turn my head up and open my mouth widely, the seal will remain normal.
Sounds wired, but i probably one of the special people. Next time doing impressions for my refit of the Miracles and JH13pro Freqphase, i will just open a little to compromise the situation between wide open and normally closed.
