Are there any details such as driver size, frequency response or anything of that sort?

Not yet, we have to wait until the end of May when it will be presented at the Munih High End Show.

I'm in line for a Hugo2, so I may have to wait for a year or too.  Maybe by the time I can afford one, they'll have an 'E' version.

PS2000e, distinguished by the 2000 rather than 1000 engraved on the side, plus black chrome rather than shiny chrome.

John, is that definitely black chrome?

Merely going by looks in various photos, not by any better info. But it's being black (or actually, smokey) in multiple photos makes me think it is the headphone, not the light.

I sure hope so. I would have liked to have had my PS1K powered coated black but just never gotten around to it.

why not get them anodised?

Hi guys,

I know this is a biased thread to ask in, but I was wondering if I could get some opinions.

I have HD800SDRs right now, but want a headphone that'll do well with like Green Day, Rise Against, The Offspring etc...  Harder hitting/pop punky rock bands.

I was looking at these, but also told to look at ZMF Atticus.  Any thoughts on which would be better for the above?

Amp and Dac are WA7 Fireflies and an iDac-6.  Don't want to change those at all if it affects the recommendations.

Thanks.

No, I don't have it (wish I could

). I found the photo with google and not sure if it is Grado's room carpet or not as I've never been in their studio.

Hey everyone.  If I was interested in PS1000e's for rock music (like Rise Against, Green Day...  etc...) and could get some for like 1000 would it be worth it with the PS2000e apparently on the way?  (Would they be priced even higher than the PS1000e tag?

I want open back headphones (so I want soundstage) that have a lot better sound for rock music than HD800s.

The ZMF Atticus have been recommended but the closed nature of them makes me nervous.

I would appreciate any and all responses.

Thanks!

I had the ps1ke, PS1k and hd800 at the same time. For my tastes I choose the original PS1k (non e) for rock music. The impact just wasn't there when listening to rock on the ps1ke. From Rage to Sabbath the PS1k had the liveliness and impact in the midbass and cymbal crashes that made the music come alive and just made me rock out harder(till this day).

IMO the psk1 is meant to be enjoyed an not compared.
Like I read somewhere recently on these Grado threads. Grados do not compare well! Lol!

for 1000 they're a steal m8.
I listen to a lot of progressive rock, and they're great for that.
but really, they're great all-rounders. (the PS1000)

I'm fairly certain the PS2000e will be more expensive.
