The Official Beyerdynamic T1 Impressions and Discussion Thread

Does anybody here feel the t1 bass lack impact despite going every deep and with good extension and body. The bass impact is equivalent to my akg 301 xtra which I've always considered extremely bass light. I don't use equalizers or bass boost.

T1 like many already pointed out is not bass light. Maybe it's your amp has not enough power or not set to the correct gain. The pads maybe not creating a good seal around your ear.

You own and have been listening to a lot of iem's. Many iem's accentuate the bass. The Ti's are neutral and give you what is on the source. You didn't mention what you are using for an amp and source with the T1's but it certainly has different requirements from your iem's. I go along with other comments here, the T1's are not bass light. They go deeper than the HD800 although with a different texture.

Just another voice in the chorus here: not bass light. Something going on up-chain if that's what you're hearing, or maybe your preference is for a fairly bass-tipped response?

Yes it's true I spend more time on iems than headphones but still I was expecting a little more punch. I'm using it with my jds c5 to Sony hd5 via line-out and can easily drive the t1 to very high volume. I also tried it with a demo dacport mini and Beyer's own A1 and didn't here much improvement much in term of giving the bass more oomph. The dacport mini didn't sound any better than the c5. Maybe I just haven't trained my ears to appreciate headphones. I've only had time to listen to the t1's for a few hours in total in which was either listening at moderate volumes in a noisy environment or in a quiet place at very low volume.

I am no bass head. It's just that whenever I compare my trusty um3x with the t1 or any headphones for that matter, the um3x always sound like beats. No saying it's better, just different.

That's a good point...if someone is after a more exaggerated, bloated low end, the T1s aren't for them. T1 bass is tight, well extended, and clean. That's just how I like it, personally.

So I just finished listening to my t1s and I take back what I said earlier about them lacking bass. it's just amazing how deep the bass can go

Did you change anything?

I dn't know if it's because they're 600ohm or what, but sometimes I've found with the T1s that I need to take them just a tad higher on the dial. They will only get marginally louder, but yet sound fuller.

My experience is that T1s like a lot of power. You don't necessarily need to use it; but they respond very nicely to overkill.

I agree.

I would send them off to BTG-Audio for a removable Cable Mod.

Thanks for the information, I am tempted to get a pair of these cans sometime and get them modified.
