I received the SE530 today, and listened to them for about 2 hours. First impression, the bass is great compared to the ER4P. Much fuller and of warmer sound, as expected. Switching from the ER4P to the SE530 is similar to switching from K701 to HD650. At first it seems duller and less exciting sound, but after awhile I started to enjoy the HD650 more than the K701. I think the same thing will happen with the SE530.
EDIT: The volume of the SE530 is louder. I had to turn it down a little on the iPod Classic to achieve the same volume.
I already enjoy them more than the ER4P. The ER4P does have very good treble, but after extended listening, a bit of fatigue sets in.
They are very comfortable in my ears (with the small black foam tips; the same kind I used for the ER4P). However, they are harder to put on because of the need to put the wire behind the ears. I'm sure I will get used to it (I used to have the Shure E4C before I got the ER4P)
Does the SE530 require break-in? I read somewhere that they improve with some break-in, but then others say IEMs don't need break-in.
