Any portable player with Spdif out?

I’ve been looking for a portable player like the cowon q5w that has a spdif out. The problem for me with the cowon q5w is it is too big and too expensive, otherwise it is nice . I want to connect the player to the ibasso d1's Dac and from the ibasso to the headphones. If you can give me a hint it would be nice.

The iRiver H1xx series have optical out. They are no longer in production, so you'll have to find a used pair on the FS forums or ebay. I have an ihp-140 optical out to a D1 and it sounds great.

Do you need the dock for spdif out or is it straight out of the 605 ?

Is that an undocumented feature?

Page 59 of the owner's manual states you need the docking station for s/pdif digital output.

it's definitely an option under "Sound" when you're in the now playing screen.

i'll upload a picture if i can find the chord for my camera.

Iriver iMP-550 pcdp. I use it all the time with my HR Microdac. It's super thin.

Yeah, the manual says there's a menu option to direct the audio output from the audio headphone/lineout to the SPDIF, but it requires the dock for the digital output.

Have you tried it with a DAC?

It still doesn't support OGG, FLAC, or a nice amount of video codecs...
