Since I am lucky enough to be able to have all three of these fine RSA amps in my possession at this time, I thought I would put together some quick GIF animations that show the relative size of each.

I was blown away by the small size of the Hornet. I've heard this from others as well. I've been trying to come up with a way of showing the sizes of these amps, and this is one of my attempts.

As a point of reference, I have relatively large hands, though this is mostly due to long fingers. I have a 7" wrist (circumference) which is pretty small according to my wristwatch research.

Here is an animation showing the tops of all three amps. The amps, in order of appearance, are the RSA SR-71, RSA Hornet, and RSA Tomahawk:

I hope this helps someone with their decision making process.

I'm not in a position to compare their sound yet since the SR71 and Tomahawk are used while the Hornet is new. The Hornet needs its fair burn-in. Suffice to say that so far the sound is as it should be - the SR71 sounds the best, followed by the Hornet, with the Tomahawk a very close third.

Great idea. I often find myself wanting more pics comparing the actual size of portable amps. Of course they never really have full impact until you see them first hand, but this would have been very helpful for me.

There's a nice pile shot in my "I hate to wait" thread - page 6 or so.

The pyramid shot only shows them in reference to each other. I've seen those shots and they just didn't prepare me for the smallness of the Hornet. Hence the fanciness.

Maybe a picture of them lined up next to each other along with a source of reference; perhaps a dollar bill or an index card? Thanks for posting the gifs though, prior to seeing them in person I always was looking for a visual comparison of the size differences between the different amps. I must say though I was really surprised by the size of the hornet and tomahawk when I saw them in person.

Seing the sizedifference like this, I guess there should be a differens? always nice to go down in size, but when I buy my first amp (portable) I dont want the "next" best in sound. -.- (currently only owner of IEM'S). Any1 else who knows something, been reading alot of threads on this but its always jadda jadda..~~ triple.fi + toma or hornet give me good link :]
