You know I really liked Justins polished then anodized black finish. I don't know if it was "bright dipped" before annodize or not, but it might have. Here's a pic:

It's a little hard to tell, because it's so jet black, but it looks rather like a "piano black" finish: very deep, very black, very gloss. It's a fairly involved process and one that takes some shepherding along, but I'm pretty sure Mikhail deals with that kind of thing pretty regularly---and pretty well, too.

The chrome might go together nicely with the silver of your other gear. Has the advantage of allways matching the decore....because it reflects it.

Still...lucky dog!

I always favor black b/c it draws less attention to itself. I'm not sure if I could live with chrome either. I only get silver when I have no color choice. My wife also sauggests black, so I may just go down the beaten path again... but you never know. That polished black in your picture is stunning and could be an interesting option.

That particular amp was hand polished and then black anodized. I think it was about 30 minutes of labor to do the AE-1, probably at a rate of about $75 an hour (not me). Not cheap, but looks stunning!

Without question black. A solid copper top (and bottom?) might be an interesting look, but would need to see a sample first.

Silver is a bit flashy for my tastes. I would take a gunmetal color though. Keep us posted with your decision and select something you'll be happy with because you're going to have to live with it.

Oooooo! Sweeeet! You could even age it into a rustic green mottle.

Heck, just be done with it and hog it out of gold billet.
