Three albums you MUST hear!

Please, just do as two others have said, listen to an Opeth album. You will be a better human for it, I promise.

Also, listen to Ozzy "Live and Loud". It was sent from God just for my ears

Good recommendations here. My 3 top picks will go for female vocals though. Just in alphabetical order:

Careless Love - Madeleine Peryoux
The other side of Jobim - Ana Caram
Vespertine - Bjork

But highly seconding Tool's Aenima, and Dire Straits' Bros' in Arms.

All great picks in this thread. Head-fi has a lot of members with great taste, and of tastes that run the gamut!

Fatboy Slim "You've come a long way, baby" - A favorite guilt pleasure

Firesign Theater "How can you be in two places at once when you're no where at all?"

Smashing Pumpkins: "Siamese Dream"

I can't stop listening to this album two years later.... Love it, too. A masterpiece.

I don't have three, but here's one.

I only heard of them recently but have really been enjoying The John Butler Trio - "Sunrise Over Sea" CD. Apparently, not long ago, John Butler was a street busker. The CD is diverse, raw, and refreshing .... and well recorded.

You can check out a couple of the videos from it (Zebra and What You Want) HERE

I'm still confused. 3 you must hear? So top 3 ever? I can't do that.

3 I've been stuck on recently:

Sufjan Stevens - Greeting from Michigan, The Great Lakes State
Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks - Pig Lib
Sonic Youth - Sonic Nurse
