I have used Gizaudio Binary Chopin (12ohm/122db) via RU7 4.4mm LO -> PA10 4.4mm. It was fine, no issues. The volume pot is pretty linear.

That looks like grounding issue. Make sure that your 4.4mm cable has proper grounding. If you are using a 2.5mm cable with a 4.4mm adapter, it may also cause grounding issue since 2.5mm doesn't have a grounding.

Do make sure that you are actually triggering the high impedance mode of the LG when you connect the PA10. This will give 2vrms to PA10. Input voltage do matter. Out of curiosity, I have fed non-american apple usb-c to 3.5mm dac to PA10 and it was pretty weak, even in high gain of PA10.
