The New HIBY R3 II is here. 4.4MM Jack; Improved Sound and Bluetooth.

Wow, thanks man, the first part did indeed resurrect the player <3

The New HIBY R3 II is here. 4.4MM Jack; Improved Sound and Bluetooth.

My R3 II died out of a sudden yesterday. It does not power up and when connected to charger a white LED is flashing (interestingly depending on the power brick it blinks faster or slower) , but it is not getting charged at all even left for whole night. @HiByMusic is there any button...

Ok, it was not me who brought brain and indirectly cognitive science into this discussion. But fair enough

Lol I assume you did not spend 10+ years with IEM before burn in, as you do to encode (I would even say hard engrave) the pitch of the voice of members of your family in your neurons :) I would not get too confident in our brain sound memory, your auditory sense is not just a simple machine...

From what I have seen Tempotec normally states combined power of left and right channel, and other manufacturers uses a power per channel in their specs. Some may argue it is not technically a lie, but for me it is very shady practice on their side at least.

Does it have QDC female connector?

IMR Audio : Sonic Adventures & Impressions

Just because something is hard does not mean it is not impossible ;) The dynamic drivers themselves are very simple builds though and are rarely expensive to buy (especially as compared to micromachines that EST/BA drivers are). But the time and trials it takes to fine tune/iterate through the...

IMR Audio : Sonic Adventures & Impressions

Think about all high end headphones - those are basically either single Planar driver or Single dynamic driver and they can sound absolutely lifelike. In IEMs there is plenty of technical limitations to the way that single DD can be tuned though (as compared to full-size transducers), which you...

The Moondrop Dark Saber Hybrid Reference IEM - Now Available on Apos Audio

https://www.reddit.com/r/headphones/s/rejVqp1rfR - not a separate case of Dark Saber shell breaking on cable swap... @Apos Audio - is this official approach towards claimd handling on this item? @MOONDROP - shouldn't Dark Saber cable be considered as fixed?

The New HIBY R3 II is here. 4.4MM Jack; Improved Sound and Bluetooth.

Unfortunately the R3 II is full of bugs (playback view does not update sometimes when FWD/REV physical button is pressed with screen off, sometimes it forgets the playlist it was playing even throughout the album and many many more). Nothing deal breaking, but I really wish @HiByMusic would...

The New HIBY R3 II is here. 4.4MM Jack; Improved Sound and Bluetooth.

In mine it is also loose even as compared to something from it's price range and tier - Shanling M0 Pro, which also has push button knob. Actually this M0 knob is one of the nicest I recall in portable audio. But it is not deal breaker in R3 II either, so just a side note. Further notes after...

The New HIBY R3 II is here. 4.4MM Jack; Improved Sound and Bluetooth.

I received my R3 II yesterday. Some short very quick impressions As compared to R3 Saber it is slightly thicker and larger in all dimensions. Still very handy. Build quality is decent, however there is a bit cheap feeling to operation of the knob. The knob is the weakest point of the device in...

I get it that there are people who do not care about that or who like this kind of cables as they do not tangle at least, so it is good it works for you :) But I am quite comfort-wh*** on cables and this one on Vita was one of the worst I have used to be fair because it was completely not...

Just my 2 cents SIE Vita cable - it is very beautiful and extremely well made piece of audio gear, but strangely terrible from the usability perspective - very stiff and hardware is too heavy to be practical.

The New HIBY R3 II is here. 4.4MM Jack; Improved Sound and Bluetooth.

Thanks, I love the idea of volume knob as a whole, but this particular implementation by Hiby looks a bit worrying - like dropping on the knob or shearing load may cause a catadtrophic damage... Always on for main driver is my strategy to all DAPs I had/have and it never failed me. It was...

The New HIBY R3 II is here. 4.4MM Jack; Improved Sound and Bluetooth.

Wow, is there internet radio in R3S? How do I access that? @o0genesis0o - fantastic review mate! In regards to usage of such small device my best recommendation is to have them on standby as their battery do not get drained in that mode almost at all. Then the access is even more seamless as no...

I actually forgot about probably dozens of very good IEMs in the price ranges like Truthear Zero Red, Juzear 41T etc, but I just wanted to make a point. In regards to Cadenza I tried it and liked it a lot, but YMMV. And as you said - when you look at 2nd hand market there are much better options...

    The discovery thread!

I respect the difference in opinion, but for me it would be one of the most controversial advices you can give especially if someone has 100$ to spend. Assuming 2 scenarios where you just buy 1st hand (which is not the best deal if you ask me, but it is easier to present): a) you have 100$ to...

Right, using greek letter Omega for acoustic impedance is rather unusual and rather a mistake caused by some unawareness or just a simplification of the advertisers

    The discovery thread!

Just to clarify - after adding acoustic damper the electrical impedance remains the same
  21. P

    The discovery thread!

But don't try to straight up adding IEMs impedance (which is electrical property) to the new impedance after the acoustic damper is installed, those are two different units. Acoustic impedance affects the sensitivity

    The discovery thread!

Well. I really don't know after this reading. But by my personal common sense I would rather use 2 same metals in contact. Especially since I cannot really rationalize using different ones because I cannot hear any sonic changes nor I cannot find a good reasons why they would be there in the...

    The discovery thread!

There should not be a problem from chemical perspective as galvanic voltage of both metals (gold plated copper in contact with rhodium plating on the silver plated copper) is very very close, but from friction and material transfer due to hardness difference this pair may cause the peeling of...

The New HIBY R3 II is here. 4.4MM Jack; Improved Sound and Bluetooth.

I guess previous ourput power of 80mW was not nominal, but was this transient max power output which is now 112mW, so it should be rated higher SE than R3 Saber and R2 II. But it is only Hiby who can confirm or deny it. Also I don't think you would ever reach neither of those values for IEMs...
