Can all ear-pleasing colored sound dynamics of DACs and AMPs be achieved through VST Plugins, making the quest for the perfect DAC and AMP obsolete?
Hi All, After weeks of researching Headphones, DACs and Amps, I recently began my audio journey starting with headphones, and ended-up with the Massdrop Sennheiser HD6xx. Finding them way too dark (i need some sizzle/more hi-hat-cymbal detail, which i can add with EQ), and the bass notes...- exwhyzed01

Experiences with New ESS Sabre DAC Motherboard audio?
After an extensive googling and forum post reading across the web, it seems that high-end Motherboard audio is still be susceptible to CPU-related and/or other computer hardware based hums, buzzes, crackles, and pops. To play it safe, i went with an external DAC (Khadas Tone board) and amp...- exwhyzed01

Experiences with New ESS Sabre DAC Motherboard audio?
Hi PurpleAngel, I'm using a Massdrop HD6xx. I've EQed it on windows using Equalizer APO and somebody else's settings and the treble came back which was great. I think i'm going to end up getting one of these motherboards when its time for me to get a new computer. And if if doesn't work out...- exwhyzed01

Need some advice. Mixing music setup(DAC)
I just checked in Ableton Live and there's an option for Input device and also Output device. FL should have similar options. Windows also has a Recording devices and Playback devices section where you can choose from what's installed. Good luck!- exwhyzed01

Need some advice. Mixing music setup(DAC)
I'm no guru but i hope the below helps. I marked-up a google image on the right showing how to integrate a DAC and headphone amp with the Audio interface. I'm assuming that the Studio Monitors are powered, otherwise you will need some type of amplifier in between the DAC and the speakers. The...- exwhyzed01

Any Integrated Amps, Vintage amps, or AV Receivers with great Headphone Amp section inside?
DeweyCH i would do 80% fun listening and 20% mixing, but for that 20% i need something spot on with clarity. Would you suggest the Asgard 3 for this, or something else that i can pair a Khadas tone board with?- exwhyzed01

Any Integrated Amps, Vintage amps, or AV Receivers with great Headphone Amp section inside?
I'm mainly listening to youtube, but now will seek out more HD sources, and download FLAC files to listen to. Yes i think i will go with a USB DAC to Amp, or combo. I was thinking the Schiit Asgard 3 and put a Khadas Tone board inside (i did some measurements looking at the internals from...- exwhyzed01

Any Integrated Amps, Vintage amps, or AV Receivers with great Headphone Amp section inside?
I just got back from the post office, and have been swapping back and forth between the HD6XX and ATH-Pro5X listening to music... and I didn't think it would happen to me but I've departed and am now heading down the rabbit hole of audio. Both my PC and the Panasonic bookshelf PMX70 fall short...- exwhyzed01

Hi All, If anyone has come across any, can you throw in your suggestions for either Integrated Amps, Vintage amps, or AV Receivers with a great Headphone Amp inside? I know that usually the headphone section is "resistored-down" from the main amplification section and acoustically suffers from...- exwhyzed01

Schiit Asgard 3 - Impressions Thread
@ tincanear Thank you. Yes i was planning on hacking a rectangular hole in the case. I may just do as you say and look for a used unit with a spectrum analyzer. The RME ADI-2 FS is the only one i can think of for now.- exwhyzed01

Schiit Asgard 3 - Impressions Thread
Does anyone know what type of DC power rails are available inside the Asgard 3, or at least what the transformer's step down voltage is? I want to wire-in a device, most likely an audio spectrum analyzer that uses DC 5V, and i don't want to have a USB jack sticking out of the back of the unit...- exwhyzed01

Reply to review by 'exwhyzed01' on item 'beyerdynamic DT 250 - Headphones ( ear-cup )'
Sayed2020 can you comment on where you got the custom earpads from? I'm interested in this headphone, from your (and others') reviews, but i want it to be over ear and not on ear, and would like to buy the aftermarket ear pads if they can let me do this. Let me know!- exwhyzed01
