Focal Elear - Impressions Thread
I have been listening to a variety of bass heavy tracks and it appears the left driver can't handle bass at high volume. There's cracks, pops, and distortion. I connected my HD800 to the same chain at the same volume playing the same tracks and there was no distortion. Did I get a defective...- Rayansb

When you shake the left driver you get the feeling there's something loose inside. Can anybody please shake their Elear and tell me if they hear this rattling sound?- Rayansb

I'm sad to report noticeable distortion issues and rattling in the left driver while listening to some songs including Peter Gabriel's "Don't Give Up" near the end. I'm not sure what to do. Is this expected or faulty?- Rayansb

I think a major part of the trick is to find the perfect volume level to balance the punchiness so to speak. The Elear does have a sweet spot on the volume knob. You just gotta experiment and find it!- Rayansb

Thanks but the Elear stock cable terminates with a 6.3 mm jack. I want to connect it to the 2.5 mm balanced end of the AK300. The one you put the link for has nothing to do with 2.5 mm.- Rayansb

Single ended (power is adequate but I wished for a little bit more power). I guess I'll need some sort of an adapter to use the balanced cable, I have the Sennheiser CH 800 S cables. Any recommendation for a good cable to take advantage of the balanced port on the AK amp?- Rayansb
