So I never pulled the trigger on the Darkvoice.  I've become pretty convinced that the Bottlehead Crack is the best match for the T90 under $400. Has anyone experienced otherwise? Also, how much does the speedball upgrade add to the sound?   Thanks again everyone!

I've read a few opinions here on the DarkVoice 336SE, but would anyone else like to comment on it? I'm currently using a Schiit Vali, but I'm thinking of leaving the Darkvoice at work (where I do most of my music listening) and leave the Vali at home. Thoughts?

Well, found a DSS2 on eBay for $32 so I picked it up as well. Going to see if I can get both to work with Xbox1. Might just station one of them at my PC and sell my sound card... Will update when everything comes in.

Here is a schematic for the DSS: When the digital input is transmitting sound, the analog input does not function . The aux input WILL function on the DSS2, which is why they added it.

It looks like it has an analog in, but not an aux in. I'm not totally sure what the difference is, but the DSS2 has both.

We are all jealous, but also reveling in the success of the thread!

Well I've got a M->F/F around so I'll try that first. Maybe I should just cancel the DSS and find a DSS2...

I've been sticking with PC thus far for my virtual surround setup, but want to make the jump to the xbox one. I've searched quite a but for a solution given that my headphone doesn't have a removable cable and the Xbox one will NOT play chat through the speakers so you can't simply connect a mic...

This is exactly what got me into head-fi as well... However, I started with pc gaming using a sound card. Unfortunately, MLE mostly games on PS4 for next gen as the Xbox One is extremely unfriendly toward using a headphone/mic combo
