You might need to adjust the length of the cups. I don't think the DT880s are heavy enough to really hurt. Maybe you need a new headband pad?

    Momentum VS MDR-1R?

Trust me... if the earpads on the Momentums had been just a little bit larger I definitely would have kept them. Shame on Sennheiser for calling them over-ear headphones.   I haven't heard the MDR1R but I don't think they're quite lacking in bass, they just don't have the same presentation or...

    Momentum VS MDR-1R?

Honestly I would tell you to return them and try out the MDR1R... I loved the sound too but if you can't wear them long enough to appreciate it, what good are they?

    Momentum VS MDR-1R?

You are just experiencing the small size of the pads. That, and your ear shapes may not be perfectly symmetrical. I had to tuck my ears inside the Momentums to get them to fit right, which made them start twitching after about 30 minutes... I loved the sound and design, but I had to re-adjust...

Minneapolis Meet July 20th 12PM-5PM @ The Needle Doctor

Just an FYI I'm not going to be bringing my gear seeing as pretty much everything is accounted for... Everything I have, anyway. I'm just pumped to meet some fellow HeadFi-ers! ....wellll, and hear some incredible setups.

Minneapolis Meet July 20th 12PM-5PM @ The Needle Doctor

Oh dang! My friend sent me the link to this, didn't even know it was going on! I'm so there. I live like 10 minutes away.

    Htc One

Strange. My DT880/600s could've gotten too loud to listen to purely off the One. They got plenty loud at 75% volume.

    Htc One

Just to add my two cents -- I got my One on Tuesday and I've been playing with it nonstop. I figured I'd search the forums to see if anyone said anything about the dedicated headphone amp. I have to say, this phone does sound quite good. It drove my DT880/600s with no problem (volume-wise) at...

    Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread

Dang, you weren't kidding! Those vocals are amazing.   Matt, I think you thought this was the wrong thread... of course I would EQ down treble on the HE-400, but I would still push sub bass up...

Here's my crazy EQ...       And it sounds amazing  some of the most pleasing bass punch I've ever heard.

The HE-400s don't even compare to Beyers for comfort. IMO the HE-400s are like wearing a vice with a brick on top, whereas the Beyers are like wearing a halo.

I personally love the long cable. It's long enough to reach from my receiver to my bed so I can lay down and watch shows without my speakers at night.

Just reading about headphones blasting your ears at max volume, even for a split second, is making my ears hurt... ouch.

I'd say they can be fatiguing for sure, but not that much. I've rarely heard any sibilance on mine.

More fatiguing? That's the first time I've heard that. What were you amping them with?

Quote:   Was it on when you did that? It may have just been the DAC's clock disengaging, or something like that. I'm not sure that's the right terminology but my Bifrost clicks sometimes. I read on the Schiit website that it's the clocks switching.

I figured the reverberation from the wood would cause a treble spike. That's too bad. I think they are just meant to be open.

    Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread

I agree, with some bass EQ and the Lyr, the HD650s have a surprisingly satisfying amount of sub bass. I wouldn't say they "jump on your head" though.

    Sick of buying headphones

I would not call the HD280s comfortable, let alone crazy comfortable. You're crazy, man. Those things are clamp monsters. They make my jaw hurt after an hour or two. They are durable though. But definitely nowhere near what I would call comfortable. Maybe not as bad as the M-Audio Q40s, but I...

My Lyr provides an enjoyable amount of midbass slam. A demo song would be Sin City from the album Cruel Summer. The bass in the beginning of that song makes my HD650s rumble. It's awesome.

    Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread

I'd definitely get the HD650s if you want richer mids, much improved comfort, and don't mind losing out on the super-textured and extended bass. The HD650s have a nice punch to them and go surprisingly low (lower than I initially thought) but they can't hold a candle to any planar cans as far as...
