  Oh.  I didn't even remember there being two separate sets of filters. Safe to say I left that at the default setting, too. 

    Glad you got it.  As for the filters, that's what Tobes and others were discussing.  See first post on this page, and then go back a page or two.   Personally, I heard very little difference and left it at the default setting.

  I'm using JRiver and have never used foobar, so no idea.  I would think it should be pretty straightforward, though.  Setting some appropriate preferences, etc.

Never mind.  After uninstalling XMOS again, I ran a registry cleaner before reinstalling it again.  That fixed it.

Guys, I just updated my PC to Windows 10 and now it doesn't recognize the m920's device driver.  When I got to Settings > Devices > Connected Devices, it shows "m920 USB Audio 2.0 - Driver is unavailable."   If I go to Settings > Devices > Device Manager, it shows the m920 has no driver, but...

Thanks. That's good to know.   This is a very busy year for me at work. The kind where I need to be highly available. That's the only reason I'm unsure.

Somebody help me out with how these things work.  I've never been to one.  There's still a lot of stuff I've never heard, so I'd like to wander around. If I bring some kit, will I still be able to do that, or will I need to stick near my gear?   (This is assuming my schedule works out.)

  Doing a Massdrop isn't really consistent with Astell & Kern's branding.  I'd be surprised if they do it.   But I'm frequently wrong about such things. 

What are you guys driving your 990s with?   I'm using the m920's DAC, and then the DV336SE as the amp.  It's a pretty sweet combo.  That amp is a good match for high-impedance cans (mine are the 600 ohm).

  Actually, this isn't true.  I have a pair of 280 Pros around here somewhere, but haven't listened to them in too long to characterize their sound.

  The M2s are the only closed 'phones I own.  I much prefer open cans, but needed a closed pair for the office.

  I can't confirm right now, but I can say I've certainly never noticed any clicks or pops between DSF tracks.   There is, however, a considerable pop on power-off/on.  A bit disconcerting in a product at this level.
