I inherited the habit of warming things up over years of using tube amps and applied that to DAPs as well especially the RS8. I usually let the DAP plays a few songs before inserting the IEM. Anyway just tried few steps as @Gowry... Plugging everything together and putting iems into my ears...

Alright will try later on tonight and report back. I guess they're different from desktop tube amps where you can pause music with high volume and definitely hear the tubes hiss/hum.

I owned the CMA18 for few months now never noticed any hiss until some mentioned in this thread so decided to test it out. Unfortunately can't the same with my tube amps. Btw I used mine with the leather case on and away (not attached) from the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4.

I tested the highly sensitive Odin and Aur Neon Pro last night on high volume music paused and no hiss.

My guess is something wrong with the cable/Lemo connectors, not the driver itself.

The last time I listened to the Utopia was May of 2023 when I took that picture. Been busy lately exploring DAPs and IEMs. Neglect yes sure....forgotten definitely not :darthsmile:.

Got rid of all my solid state amps and keeping the TA. Sounds great with the Utopia and Fostex 909. Also for IEM the Noble Audio Kublai Khan is phenomenal out of the 4.4mm balanced connector.

No I haven't asked Feliks about it. But reading the forums on the web I got the impression they should be ok for headphone amps (as opposed to speaker amps). I had some pops and crackles during the first 40 hours but they're dead quiet now.

I've been using the EML Mesh 300b for few months now with no problem. Compared to the Elroy ER/Mo they lack some bass extension but excel with female vocal.
