Maybe, I will try @doubletrobbel SR8 later this year.

My guess is that SR8 is the smoother performer, warmer. Less energetic.

My DTE500 is starting to sound perfect. As soon as the tubes in my setup are warm I am in a blanket of sound.

Seems to be a direct upgrade and improvement over the sr8.

if the mids weren’t so thick, I’d be all over it. I already have my SR8 for that thicker mids sound and don’t desire another.

It would be a solid replacement for the SR8, as the treble is better extended and looks like it’ll be more detailed without the SR8’s significant dip between 6-7k.

I guess if you don’t yet own the SR8, this would be a no-brainer - or if you just love thick rich mids.
