Oh. Whoops. It had been some time since I'd reviewed anything on Head-Fi when I had submitted this, so I did not remember that was the case. Thank you for letting me know.

My rating for Isolation is not reflecting what I tried to report in my review. Isolation should be rated considerably lower.

Review by 'C.C.S.' on item 'SHOZY Zero IEM'

Disclaimer: I received this earphone for free from the manufacturers. I did my best not to let that color my opinion on the product, but my impressions may not be entirely without bias.   Shozy Zero is a high quality value-oriented earphone, providing listeners with impressive sound in an...

I disagree. A review is not validated by length, but by content. It provides information about what is being reviewed and the opinion of the user. Review. Good review? I'm not particularly interested in assessing it for quality. But, it's definitely a review. I wish more Head-Fi reviews were so...

Ultimate Ears UE 900 Discussion and Impressions Thread

Give them a little longer. If you have a good neutral reference, then I think you'll soon find that these IEMs certainly don't lack bass.   Also, if the rock music you're listening to is lacking in bass, you need to listen to some better recorded rock music. My best rock albums are far from...

Sennheiser HD 600 vs Mr. Speakers Mad Dogs

If you're okay with open backed headphones and you're looking for balanced sound above all, HD600.

    Headphone Sightings 2

I saw a student here one of my university's dining halls, wearing JHA Roxanne, about a week ago, I believe. It was pretty unreal. Never thought I'd see one of those in the wild.

I agree that P3 had the best characters and the best character development in the series, but I feel that P4 ultimately had a better plot. Combined with the more impressive dungeon variety and a cast of still pretty strong characters, I felt that P4 felt like the stronger game, if perhaps a...

Honestly, my next favourite behind FFIX is FFXII. A lot of people won't be fond of the Gambit system and will never really figure the combat out, but for those who do, it really is a fantastic game, made only a tiny bit worse by the fact that it's yet another Final Fantasy = Star Wars game. The...

You probably won't. At the moment, IX is easily the best in the series. Until XV (hopefully) blows it out of the water. Or until KHIII is retitled Final Fantasy XVI.

Why 24 bit audio and anything over 48k is not only worthless, but bad for music.

If you're encoding lossless to lossless, then it shouldn't be any problem. You can convert it down to 16 bits without anything funky happening.

    Earphones/headphones - looking for versatility

If you'd still like to take the upgrade path, consider the VSonic GR07. They are likely a further departure from your Sennheiser earphones, but for $100, they are one of the best values in earphones, very ergonomic and easy to fit and provide exactly that versatility which you are looking for...

RHA T20: in-ear headphone featuring DualCoil™ driver technology.

Are you sure that bass response is rolling off, or if it might be your hearing that is? Remember that the lowest frequencies are felt much more than they are heard and that low bass frequencies need to be driven to much higher sound pressure levels in order to be perceived as equally loud.

Hello, new here, planning my first purchases.

I would probably buy new, because they're relatively inexpensive anyway, and that will allow you to get them replaced or serviced under warranty on the slim chance that you receive a bad unit. I haven't heard too many complaints about receiving defective items from Schiit, but I'm sure it...

RHA T20: in-ear headphone featuring DualCoil™ driver technology.

RHA hasn't been on my radar since the MA-750 review program. The thought of an RHA IEM, utilizing new driver technology, and tuned to a reference sound signature, has me very intrigued. I'm looking forward to hearing some new details about this earphone.

Noble Audio - the Wizard returns!

No, a brief break usually will not. Noise exposure is cumulative, as is hearing damage. It's not that you shouldn't hear >8 hours of continuous sound at 85 dB. You shouldn't hear any more than that over the course of an entire day, if you want to maintain your hearing as best as possible...

Noble Audio - the Wizard returns!

To answer for him, it depends on what you mean by "low volumes." 80 dB may potentially be harmful if you listen more than 7-8 hours total per day. 70 dB or lower, probably not.   Hearing loss, unfortunately, is permanent. I've never come across anything that suggests otherwise. Try not to...

Hello, new here, planning my first purchases.

I'd like to echo the suggestion for HD600, but go one step further and say that they'll even do justice to some more aggressive genres like metal. They're insanely versatile.

All 6's And 7's isn't too bad. My major problem with most of Tech's albums is that they don't really sound coherent and don't have many good tracks aside from the singles. KOD and Special Effects are the ones that are best about this, in my opinion. They both feel like Tech really worked on the...

I don't know if anyone in the thread is a Tech N9ne fan, but I've listened to Special Effects in its entirety twice now, and while my opinion isn't fully formed, I must say that I quite like this one. It sounds very much like a sequel to his best album, KOD. If only it employed older mastering...

Review by 'C.C.S.' on item 'Westone W30 Triple Driver Universal Fit Noise Isolating Earphones, 78503'

Intro (Kind of)   The Westone W30 is one of several IEMs in Westone's newly revamped universal IEM collection, intended as a removable-cable replacement to the older W3. For those of you who are unfamiliar, the W3 was, to the best of my knowledge, the first 3-way universal in-ear monitor, and...
