    M2Tech HiFace 2?

Yes you'd need a DAC with a SPDIF coax input also.

    M2Tech HiFace 2?

I understand your point of view.   The best solution I see, is that Thesycon makes a driver that is compatible with XMOS devices in general, rather then force manufacturers though the trouble you describe. Imagine if Intel had the same driver policy as Thesycon ;(   I agree though, it is...

    M2Tech HiFace 2?

M2Tech doesn't have to be a software company, you can get the latest drivers from the Thesycon website, and mod them to work in a hiFace two, easily, but it makes a bleep sound with regular intervals. The only reason why Luckit is the only vendor who has the latest drivers is because Thesycon...

Hiface Two - Linux Mint Problem

I had the same problem, but just managed to find a solution.   It seems that for some reason, ALSA mutes the hiFace, just for kicks and giggles though. So use your favorite ALSA mixer to un-mute the hiFace, then run the following command to save your ALSA config so that you don't have to...

    DIY Cable Gallery!!

The short RCA cables are made using Supra Trico wire (the core is stranded in case you are wondering) and HGA LOK Silver Point plugs. The long RCA cables are also made with Trico wire but have Eichmann Silver Bullet plugs. Disregard the short one for now.       This picture shows a now...

    M2Tech HiFace 2?

The update is indeed delayed, their web designer is doing his best to get it up on their site by Monday, but it may be added sometime during this weekend.   I'll keep checking once in a while, if you do too, please post here when it appears, if no one else has yet, you may be the first to see it.

    M2Tech HiFace 2?

It seems the firmware update is delayed for some reason, no words from M2Tech. I guess they went home for the weekend, I hope they have a good one, so they can release it Monday.

M2Tech will officially release the new firmware tomorrow, so keep an eye on their site by then.

    M2Tech HiFace 2?

He also mentioned a firmware update, just the sort of thing that might fix the problem where the hiFace Two hangs and has to be reconnected, and USB 3.0 problems too.

The AKG K 250 (history, pictures, and a review of this forgotten dynamic K 340/K 241 hybrid)

The graph I shared earlier, was measured off an EMU 0202, so that graph shows an underpowered DF as well. Aren't you just dieing to know what happens to the K250 and DF with the right amp?, as you say your self:   Quote:   It's hard to predict how the K250 would respond to amping...

The AKG K 250 (history, pictures, and a review of this forgotten dynamic K 340/K 241 hybrid)

Quote:   There is quite a bit DF info spread out around the web, people with different variations of DF's seem to have the same impressions, if the pads are not flat and the screens are in good condition. I have driven my DF's off a H/K PM665 (not so good bass extension, very...

The AKG K 250 (history, pictures, and a review of this forgotten dynamic K 340/K 241 hybrid)

^   I don't think the different variations of DF's sound different from one another, if they did, I'm quite sure we'd have some indications of that by now. Everyone who likes DF's seem to agree on how they sound, pads and screening have a significant impact on the sound though, and they...

The AKG K 250 (history, pictures, and a review of this forgotten dynamic K 340/K 241 hybrid)

Quote: My DF's are of a later date, the DF's in the pic I showed are fairly rare, mine have a more K240 Studio like baffle, with paper material.   Here are the DF variations I have seen so far (apart form the K250/K241 style baffle)   Here is mine (where in K242HD frame at the...

The AKG K 250 (history, pictures, and a review of this forgotten dynamic K 340/K 241 hybrid)

Awesome work on the graphs vid, really excellent work, what dedication!   It does indeed seem like the K250 and DF's are related, early DF's even seem to share the same baffle as the K250's (and K241 + early Monitors).   Maybe the design of the DF's where a long time coming and that the...

    A new reference from AKG?

On the German ebay, vintage AKG's grow on trees, plenty to chose from so no need to overpay, wait for a better deal in stead.

    A new reference from AKG?

AKG used to make very interesting innovative cans that where very carefully voiced. Today they all their cans have some sort of flaw that ruins the party. The built quality of the K240mkII and K242HD is bad compared to the old 600 Ohm models, and so is the sound.   To replace old models...

    Mouse -Fi

I had an SteelSeries Ikari, after about two years the wheel button started acting up, making tens of clicks every time I pushed it. No more warranty so I took it apart to replace that button, only to find it was of a cheaper brand then the other buttons (why?). I'm fairly handy with a...

    On/Off for Solid State Amp

Quote: X2 Powered electronics are potential fire hazard, so power them off if you can't keep an eye on 'em. Your power bill and the environment would prefer if you powered down your electronics when you are not using it, solid state gear will last a long time even if they have a lot...

    Mouse -Fi

Quote: I too have an old Icemat, this is the mousepad I have used for the longest amount of time by far. It's great although very noisy with some mice, today I use a Steelseries SX aluminum mat, not much difference between this and the Icemat, except the SX doens't wear down the mouse...
