I have many CDs that I turned into one flac file with a cue file saying where the tracks are in the flac. All my flacs + cue files plays fine. Maybe something wrong with the headers in your files?- snoopy007

Have you updated to the latest firmware? On the initial firmware, the player hanged on me a few times when I tried to test lots of different songs by jumping to lots of different folders. After the updates, the player haven't locked up once (fingers crossed). But I usually power off the machine...- snoopy007

Should I go with CBR or VBR(0) for my mp3's?
the latter lame encoded vbr-0 mp3 files are top notch and are compatible with all the mp3 playback devices I have tested on so far.... ( I am still using lame 3.98.4) as for futureproof.... keep the lossless files on on a portbale hdd/computer in flac/alac and then convert it to...- snoopy007

for those who has been finding the bass a bit too much, are you actually listening to the cks77 at the same volume setting as your last iem? I find these iem to be quite easy to drive and so most probably require a lower setting compare to your previous iem. on the music I listen to on a...- snoopy007

danny93, For dynamic iem, using high or low gain usually doesn't effect the sound signature that much. just a volume difference.- snoopy007

Sicilian, try a lower listening volume whenever you find the bass is overpowering over the rest of the music. some people forget to turn their volume down because these are pretty efficient heaphones. for my "normal" listening volume on the iriver e30. ckm77 is set at 21/40...- snoopy007

"burn-in" - I can't detect much more easily detectable change. cks-77 took about 30 hours burn in for me. ckm77 took about 100 hours burn in. after burn in. the cks77 bass gets tighter and the vocal feels cleaner. at the volume level that I listen at the cks77...- snoopy007

ckm77, cks77 comparison. For me...... if your source is clinical - cks77 source is warmish - ckm77 if you want thumping bass - cks77 airness in female vocal - ckm77 lush warmish yet roomy in female vocals - cks77 cks77 works better...- snoopy007

I would say the cks77 is pretty pleasing to the ear and very easy to drive. Which makes it ideal for portables. :) But I still stand by what I said about at higher volume, the bass will overwhelm the rest of the music. In addition, even though the cks77 looks bulky. In actual...- snoopy007

dsnuts, your mind isn't playing tricks on you. After 30 hours burn-in at the higher volume I stated before, the vocals do sound slightly better and clearer. I think the diaphragm has lossen up a little which allows it move slighly faster. Or as you suggested..... maybe a mind...- snoopy007
