Portable Headphones to match with Fiio X3ii
So, I'm not new to this but I haven't been immersed in headphones/head-fi for the last few years. I recently needed to update my mobile rig and ended up with a Fiio X3ii. I'm happy with the sound with my Shure SE535 IEMs on the go but sometimes I just don't want to put in IEMs. I saw the...- BillC

Font that includes Headphone symbol?
I'm not sure the proper forum to ask this but the Head-fi community seems like the place to ask. This relates to a portable audio device so I dropped it here: I have a friend who is building a portable audio device. He's looking for a font that includes a headphone symbol. Anyone know of one...- BillC

Shopping for a DAP
The battery on my X5 is beginning to fade to nothing. It still works fine plugged into it's cradle on my office PC so I may just let it become a non-portable DAP. But I need to replace it for portable use. Anything else out there I should consider - something with a replaceable battery would be...- BillC

I've got no affiliation with the website but this is pretty amazing: http://www.wolfgangsvault.com/ From the website: Bill Graham and his concert promotion company, Bill Graham Presents, produced more than 35,000 concerts all over the world. His first venue, the legendary Fillmore... -
Battery for MiniDAC
I finally bit the bullet and ordered an Apogee MiniDAC - should be here tomorrow! Now I'm trying to choose a battery to go with it. I've done searches here and have seen people using a lot of different approaches. Apogee recommends a $170 EcoCharge Lead-Acid Rechargeable. Someone here was...- BillC

Can't quite pull the trigger on Apogee MiniDac...
I'm almost convinced to buy the Apogee MiniDac. I'd like an upgraded source. The MiniDac would easily move between home and office and I could use it from my office computer, home computer and connected off my SqueezeBox on my "big" stereo. But I can't quite decide if it's worth the price...- BillC

What do I give up with the MicroDAC?
I'm starting to lust for a DAC, preferably one with USB connectivity. The Headroom MicroDAC is enticing because of it's pricepoint. But I don't want to buy something and then have the urge to upgrade right away. So I'm also looking at something like the Apogee MiniDAC. Can someone who has heard...- BillC

Lehmann Black Cube Linear Headphone Amp USB?
I just saw a review that included the Lehmann Black Cube Linear Headphone Amp. I didn't know much about that amp so I was poking around with searches and saw some mentions of an upcoming version to include a USB connected DAC. Anyone know anything about Lehmann's progress on this? I'm looking...- BillC

Initial Impressions: UE Superfi 5 Pro v Shure E3c
OK, I've been listening to the UE Superfi 5 Pros for about a week and thought I'd post my initial impressions versus the E3c's I'd been using. Equipment: My portable rig is currently an iAudio X5/Cardas mini-mini/SM3 Externals: The UE 5 Pros come with a shorter, thinner cord. They don't...- BillC
