Microphone suggestions
any place like head-fi for mic and recording? any suggestion for a simple rig? wired(cheaper and better quality i guess? i'm a headfier after all so mostly prefer wired) or wireless(easy to use?). both portable and stationary. mostly for vocals and will not be in a studio.- fhuang

I believe headphones is always the cheapest device from the chain. plus dt880 is one of the better headphones around (a beyer fan here), also one of the hardest headphones to drive, so getting a more expensive device(s) can only do the beyer or any beyer some justice- fhuang

thanks for the suggestion. unfortunately the xdudo is kind hard to get. have you or anybody tried a fiio m5? that thing is tiny! but most importantly it has a coaxial output.- fhuang

what dap do you guys do these days with the hugo? I've been using opus #1 and an ipod with solo but both are a bit heavy. wondering if i can replace those bricks. hope to keep it cheap but it doesn't have to be cheap cheap. maybe a ibasso dx160, fiio m9 or hiby r3? any suggestions?- fhuang

Audio Technica ATH-L5000
Sure. My first impression, a lot of boxes. Took me awhile to get the headphones. I did spent a little time with the l5000. A disc. It changes during the time. One thing, it's a lot of details. The bass has a lot of texture. I'll come back when I hear more And I do agree. The utopia...- fhuang
