In case anyone is interested, I found a pair of my beloved KR-Audio 5U4G Riccardo Kron Anniversary Edition Rectifier tubes for sale. I've bought from him before, excellent seller, but he's firm on his price.

Go get 'em!

So got set of Hifiman r something with red shiny cups. The WA5 LE does not like the right driver. I was surprised when switching left and right the problem stayed on the right side. On my other amp no imbalance.

Since it's been quiet in here I thought I'd stop by and just leave this here:

So how's Elrog compared to EML stuff.
The Elrogs make the EML stuff sound flat and sluggish in comparison. The combination I'm running now (Elrog 300B-Mo, Elrog 5U4G, Tung Sol 6F8G Round Plate) is amazing. I don't know that I'll be able to find anything better (not for a lack of trying, though).

I just read this thread to familiarize myself with this particular model. Last week, I heard the WA22 with upgrades/NOS tubes at a Head-Fi meet. I thought it was spectacular. Probably one of the best (probably top 3) tube headphone amps I've ever heard.

I've never heard the WA5-LE and understand it to be a step up from the WA22, which is hard for me to fathom. For that matter, I've never heard any 300B amp before. The first thing that I notice in reading up on this amp, is how expensive tube rolling is with these rectifiers and power tubes!! It thought my tube stash of 6090, 5998, and 6as7g tubes were pricey until I looked up some of these! I'm concluding that the pricing of these tubes was not a deterrent and the results must obviously be justified.

If you owners who have heard the WA22, could quantify how much better the WA5-LE is, I'd be really curious. I also read the article on headphone guru by @Dubstep Girl , which I found very informative.

I took delivery of a WA5 LE 2nd Edition today and will get to run it tomorrow. Long story short I originally bought the wa22 last week but decided to send it back and do the upgrade to WA5. This is the first time experiencing Woo products but should I expect? This will definitely be an upgrade from the Schiit MJ2.

Anybody running their WA5 with ZMF Auteurs or the Verite? How's the synergy?
Funny - I went straight from Schiit MJ2 to the WA5-LE. I always loved Schiit gear - but boy is this another level, and then one more. Nourishing. The Big Woo driving the Abyss 1266TC at the moment. And they make the new Grado GS3000X really sing (that headphone, by the way, involves some new tech and is, to my ears, the best headphone they've made). It builds significantly on what was good about the 3000e. The new Grados are amazing for the money, and in some respects (tactile quality, engagement, midrange timbre, improved and smoothed upper-mid/lower-treble) in absolute terms.

What has your experience been with it? What tubes are you using? I went for the new WE300B, much better, more open, extended, and dynamic, than the stock PSVANE.

Anyone using this amp with a Yggy (I have a OG A2 Unison) and Utopia's? I'm in need of an amp upgrade in a big way and this has me intrigued.

Not used a Yggy, but I do have the Utopias and they're marvelous with the WA5-LE Gen 2. Elrog tubes. Period.

I am considering buying one of these since I don’t have a 300B amp. I currently own the Bigger Ben v2 from Ampsandsound and absolutely love it. But, I am really curious about the 300Bs and these seem really good. Will it drive the Susvara?

While I don't have direct experience with the Susvarna, I can tell you it has plenty of power and should drive them just fine.

I too do not have any experience with the Susvara but I used the WA5 with the LCD-4 as my main setup for several years. It sounded great!

Awesome! How good does it sound with the stock tubes? Wonder if I need to immediately upgrade the 300Bs to get more power.
