Etymotic 'PTH' Software/app for all iems
http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/awareness-for-etymotic/id431094324?mt=8 Not sure if this has been seen before, but it looks like etymotic has created an app that will use the microphone and deliver its signal to your earphones, like shure's pth. I could see this being useful for those with...- Trysaeder

Shure SE535 Special Edition
Everything should be available in black or grey. I hate that bronze that looks like it's attempting to camouflage with your skin, or the transparent plastic that tries to look like a custom. Red looks ok but I wish the cable were black.- Trysaeder

Unique Melody Remold Impressions Thread
Not really referring to anything in particular, just everything that I've seen. Aero still has it anyway. Now that Christmas is near I want to spend money. I can get a reshell plus mid for $380 plus tf10, or sell the tf10 and spend $550> on a 1964-T. Does anyone have a chart of...- Trysaeder

Review by 'Trysaeder' on item 'Audio-Technica ATH-CK10 Portable In-Ear Headphones'
I won't write too much about this because there's much that has already been said about it. I've had this for a long time so the new toy syndrome has worn off, and boredom has set in. However recently I've been appreciating its sound more, and decided to share some thoughts. If you like...- Trysaeder

Unique Melody Remold Impressions Thread
Why is there a peak at 3khz for everything that comes out of UM? I know that there's a difference between open and sealed canals in resonance, but it seems like there's a consistent measurement difference. I really should have spent more time at the UM table in the melb meet.- Trysaeder

Melbourne's 2nd Head-Fi Meet of 2011 - 10th September
Highlight of the day: that palmolive hand wash accompanied by the roll of paper towels. I haven't seen that combination in more than 5 years. Brings back so many memories. I was really glad to see such exotic lenses on the cameras, such as leica-r and voigtlander nokton. After...- Trysaeder

I'll be there at around 12. I've got things to do in the morning. I don't think I could not possibly eat pizza as I just had some today. We'll see what happens and go with it.- Trysaeder

Dark shots should be underexposed to retain the feeling of the environment. The photos all look really unnatural, giving the same feeling as overdone hdr.- Trysaeder

Same Old Schiit? Balanced Research and Valhalla Amp Giveaway
1. Do you have balanced headphones? If so, which ones? Used to, K702 2. If not, are you looking at balanced headphones or a balanced amp in the future? As with most things, if I had a few million dollars it would be on my list. 3. For balanced headphone output, how important...- Trysaeder

The NIKON Thread (Talk About Nikon Stuff here)
I'm close to finishing my setup now. 11-16 tokina - wide angles are incredibly hard to use. The zoom on this makes it quite a bit easier, but I still treat it as a prime. 17-50 sigma - boring lens. Use for events that I have less experience in, as well as lower lighting stuff. It's a nice...- Trysaeder

Quick multiple choice poll: Which factors do *you* think make an audible difference?
Potentiometers: pick a crap one and you'll get built in panning for free! Room treatments: perhaps the most definite one. The one thing I would like most. Price: relative to the others, changing the price gives far more change in performance. Could nuke the rest and there wouldn't be...- Trysaeder

Is it ok to complain about someone playing music too loudly?
I don't know how loud people like their music, but I'd guess that there are few who would turn up something to be louder than a person's voice. If it's about 63 dB at 1 metre, imagine how loud it is next to his ears. Having said that, music from headphones is usually softer than people...- Trysaeder

The NIKON Thread (Talk About Nikon Stuff here)
I'd love to get an x100 like. The idea of a small, retro looking thing sounds great for the stuff I like to do (street, but not very good right now :D). The reason I want a 24 is because I used to use a 35 on fullframe and it feels natural for me. Right now I'm most likely to get a 16-85...- Trysaeder
