Discovering the Shure SE425
You are absolutely right. You get a taste of true brilliance once your ears are done adapting. How long has it been since you got yours? Did you get the proper fit? I do hope you enjoy them. Also, thank you for the suggestion, though would an amp be necessary, considering the low impedance...- Oromis

Agreed, I never meant for it to be interpreted it like that. I just suggested of a similar experience with a totally different set of BAs. I meant 'getting used to it' as a more of a getting used to the sound signature of a BA, not getting used to your ears ringing.- Oromis

Need new IEM, too many choices, help!
No problem. I'd suggest you do give it some time though. Don't mail them back just yet. Hell, I was so disappointed with my purchase, I suspected they boxed me, 10$ fakes. I concluded that I was so used to my previous headphones (HD558) that I couldn't tolerate anything else. Now that I've...- Oromis

Need new IEM, too many choices, help!
That, my friend is a typical transition experience to BA(assuming these are your first). I had almost that same ringing experience with quite a bit of sibilance especially on the vocals and those not so good lows. But mine were the SE425s. Your best bet would be to try each and every eartip...- Oromis

BOSE IE2 In Ear Headphones
Dunno, but happened to me. Cable wear is fine. But the eartips were a turnoff.- Oromis

BOSE IE2 In Ear Headphones
I was keen on buying the IE2s at first, but luckily a friend of mine had them and I'm glad I avoided the purchase. I've listened to them for a few hours on separate days. The sound is kind of a half-assed approach. It's as if a cheap (and generally bass heavy) earphone is trying to transition...- Oromis

Earphones vs Earphones + DAP? Please help.
I guess, you're right. The habit needs to change. But would your opinion change when talking pure performanc? Why is that so? And what would you recommend otherwise?- Oromis

I'd personally go for the Shure Se215 simply because it's fabled at that price point not to mention customer service + durability. Though if you're getting the x7i at 50$ that might be the better deal, considering that's a lot for 50$.- Oromis

Earphones vs Earphones + DAP? Please help.
Hi everyone, I don't currently own a DAP, DAC or Amp. So I have no idea about just how much of an improvement they might offer over maybe an iPhone 6 or my op2. The real question is whether or not it would be better to get maybe a single earphone for a given price, say the IE8 ~450$ or an...- Oromis

Discovering the Shure SE425
Hi everyone, This is my first post on headfi, though I have been following these forums for over two years and finally decided to create a post. I'd like to mention that this isn't my first purchase, but I am here because of the SE425s mainly to share my experience and to especially help...- Oromis
