Well, it takes a while to get used to the sound signature of detailed HPs. I usually match my DT770PRO/32 against my X2 and often find it way better. Better imaging, defined highs, balanced sound signture with a little recessed mids. Sometimes I find its vocals a bit 'plastic' but it changes...

I bought this headphone by searching "durability" keyword. Recently I thought I have lost my buds for over a week. Turns out they were in a pant's pocket and went through a full washing machine cycle.  They sound exactly the same as when I bought them.  10/10

Comparing E10K's amp to my magni2u, it sounds congested, "on your face" sounded, less spatial, less defined. It does sound more punchy, though.

    I agree with xfloggingkylex. I used my E10K as source for Vali and Magni2U before buying a Modi2U. It works fine :)

If you pick X2, you won't need to buy an amp. Although I recommend buying a good soundcard. I strongly recommend it! X2 is open but stills very bassy and "natural" sounding. I'm currently switching from Xonar DX optical and Modi2 USB for gaming and music, respectively, as source for Magni2u...

  I think it's pretty transparent with detail. If you have a not-so-good speakers, you won't enjoy it. 

Hi! I'm was in the same situation than you!  I have a DT770 32ohm and it's good for its price. probably a high impedance model will be even better (most likely the 80ohm one -- if I'm not mistaken they have better bass).  My X2 is open but is superb. Really no complains, only good times...

X2 cable is amazing. I'm using it to plug my active bass on the mixer. superb. 

I'm using X2 with Dolby HP and ProLogicII and it sounds absurdly immersive and good souding. 

Today is my dad's birthday. Put my X2 on his ears. He's blowed away and re-listening his favorites songs. 

It has some flaws at any OSs, I believe. I've used it on OSX and sometimes I got freezes and stuff. Just unplug and plug again. 

  xonar via optical. I realize that separation and definition is also better. I've recently changed the OS (from OS X to W10) so.. there's a bunch of things to test. I tested the pure USB and the optical and... I don't think it's placebo. Xonar Optical > USB.

I'm now feeding modi2u through optical with a Xonar DX. My main idea was to switch between pure stereo via USB to music and DPS/effects via optical to gaming. Turns out that Xonar DX has a ~hi-fi~ mode that disables the effects.    WOW. I'm not sure if it's placebo effect or something else but...
