I'm curious about these L700s. How about a sound quality comparison with the Sony WH-1000XM4 or AirPods MAX?

My pair is perfect. I have the Titanium version, purchased on the day of launch at the beginning of December. They were made mid-November. No issues at all and the sound quality is really good using the Cypher cable.

I have a perfect pair of the EL-8 Titanium. The sound is really good out of the Cypher lightning cable. No piercing highs, just very smooth, crystal clear and tight extended base. I'm really happy with mine.

The Titanium model is the only EL-8s I have heard so unable to offer any comparison. Sorry.

I have considered an outboard DAC/AMP for my iOS devices but honestly can't be bothered with all the hassle. Thus the appeal of the EL-8 plus I'd never heard planars before and was eager to hear some. To be honest, listening to music through my iPhone and iPad has become truly enjoyable again...

Very good isolation, better than my Edition 8, but heavier and less comfortable. No noticeable battery drain on either my iPad Pro or iPhone 6 Plus. I purchased the EL-8 for travel, but I'm not using them on the go, just for on the plane and when I get there - if I decide to keep them. Still...

I picked up a pair today also. Listening to Wagner with them right now in apple lossless on my iPad Pro. Not bad. Not as good as my Senns or Edition 8 through my desktop rig but pretty decent through my iOS devices.

Never happened to mine and I use my ed8 almost daily, just FYI.

Still love mine. I still use my DA11 all the time. I've had it almost 5 years now and have no interest in looking to change or upgrade.

Yes I'm starting to wonder myself, especially since I find the HD650 to be almost too much bass. Could lack of break-in be the issue? Between the Amperior and the ED8, it's night and day - the Amperior has much much more bass.
