I am looking for a good cheap amp for my new Grado SR-80's. I listen mostly to Classic Rock, Hard Rock, Blues, and Folk. 99% is Classic Rock though. I am only looking to spend 100 or less if that is possible. Should I just go ahead and get a portable amp? Thanks, ClassicRock1169

Alright I decided to just go ahead and buy the Grado SR-80 used. I found a good price for them off of someone on this forum. Thanks! I will post what I think about them once I get them.

Another one of my concerns is that I have heard (after my research) that the Grado SR-80 and Alessandra MS-1 NEED an amp to sound good. I don't like to blast my headphones because I want to protect my hearing but will I have to amp these cans then blast them for them to sound good?

So it still seems the general view is that the Alessandro MS-1 is the best in that price range. I still would like to hear some opinions on the SR-80 vs SR-80i
