Speaker mounting/placement
My room is a pretty typical size and I'm really only listening to it while sitting at the computer. I unfortunately don't have the wall space to do something like your midfield setup. To do something like your nearfield setup would require me to put the speaker between my monitors. I was...- Bai Shen

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
I also asked over on AVSForum for some suggestions regarding computer speaker setups. One of the people over there recommended that I buy the AIYIMA A07 instead of the Rekkr. But previously when looking at Rekkr reviews I came across this one where he talks about the Rekkr being much better at...- Bai Shen

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
What's scary is when you end up with 20A breakers on a 15A circuit. Well, crap. In my defense, I was responding to a post on the page BEFORE this post. :)- Bai Shen

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
The Klipsch are under $100. How do you think they'd compare to the ProMonitor 800? in regards to the Elac being harder to drive, would that be noticeable at nearfield levels? This is the problem I run into. I have no idea what most of these speakers are and trying to sort the wheat from the...- Bai Shen

What defines midfield and nearfield? I'm not sure why you chose what you did.- Bai Shen

Speaker mounting/placement
How does everyone have their speakers placed? I need to replace my ancient 2.1 setup and I'm thinking of moving to a larger 2.0 set. I've seen some people mount the speakers above their monitors but I'm not sure if that would be too high. I don't have room to mount them on the sides of my...- Bai Shen

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
I did a quick check of local used listings and I found two sets that I'm curious what everyone thinks. There were a cheap set of Klipsch SB2s and for twice as much a pair of Elac Debut B6. Would either of those pair well with a Rekkr? I've been happy with my Elac Debut 2.0 B6.2 surrounds but...- Bai Shen

I already have a Magni for a headphone amp so being able to repurpose the Rekkr doesn't buy me anything. :D I'll take a look around and see if I find anything interesting used locally. I want to say that the last time I looked the situation wasn't that great.- Bai Shen

I'm not sure. I've had these same speakers for ages. Appreciate the offer, but I think I would just try the Deftechs first as they seem similar to the M-1. I already stress out enough trying to figure out the correct crossover and levels on my home theater. I'm not sure I want to go through...- Bai Shen

Desktop speakers recommendation
Features like a DAC, Bluetooth, etc. Amusingly enough, I just went looking for examples to show you want I meant and I stumbled across these which are basically what I want if I do powered monitors. https://edifier-online.com/us/en/speakers/studio-r1280t-2.0-powered-bookshelf-speakers Prior...- Bai Shen

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
Jason mentioned that one of the Schiit employees is happy using the Rekkr with a set of LS50s but I don't recall the name. Very much so. :D The price of the Rekkr is the reason I'm considering doing this instead of just going with a set of powered speakers. Those seem similar in spec to the...- Bai Shen

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
The LS50 are definitely outside of my budget. :D I'm not completely sure, especially since I have to factor in the purchase price of the Rekkr. I'm thinking maybe $300 but there's some flexibility. I guess one of the things I'm trying to figure out is if Rekkr plus $150 speakers will sound...- Bai Shen

Desktop speakers recommendation
I'm not sure how that would hook up as I'm using the RCA outputs from my Magni. Also, the sub isn't a requirement as I'm not looking to shake the windows. Just want the speakers to sound good at a reasonable desk listening level. Overall, I would prefer a more standard speaker setup.- Bai Shen

That's great and all but completely not what I'm looking for. I need recommendations for speakers to go with the Rekkr, not more headphones.- Bai Shen
