I currently own a Dark Voice 337SE sig OTL amp and a Whammy. After much reading and watching Youtube vids I am interested in buying a pair of ZMF Atticus/ Eikon or maybe both used. I also plan to build a Pass HPA but only have the pcb so far
I am wondering how well my amps will work with the headphones I am interested in. I only own apart from Sony XM1000, a pair of Senn HD580. The latter work well with both amps but I need a pair of high fidelity closed back headphones.
I have eclectic tastes inc prog rock, jazz, classical, baroque, world and artists like Joni and Neil Young.
I'm hoping to post a wanted ad for the headphones but not sure if the 15 post requirement applies to wanted. Suspect it does.

WHAMMY will crush, no worries. It's a fantastic amp!

Crush? Sorry not sure what that means. With my Sennheisers I prefer the OTL. It provides a huge soundstage. It's a bit of a beast - weighs a ton. Saying that it's higher z will not suit all headphones.

Definitely take your question up with guys on the unofficial ZMF amp forum here: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/the-un-official-amp-thread-for-zmf-headphones.965309/ There are a lot of more knowledgeable people than myself who will be happy to recommend amps or comment on the amps you have.

I haven't heard the 337SE, but I used to own the 336SE, and it worked quite well with the high z stuff. But the higher tier you go, the better sound you unlock from ZMF and Sennheiser headphones. If you're into building, Bottlehead kits are hard to beat. The Crack is a general favorite with ZMF's. Personally I would keep the amps you have and see if there are any aspects of the sound you don't like. That will inform your tastes going forward into higher end tube/SS amps if you want.

It will work very well with the ZMF, that's what I meant by crush :) Yes, the high impedance allows you to experiment with OTL designs, so you can have it both ways.
