ZMF Atrium - new open-back co-flagship

Has anyone yet tried the Cladera thick pads on the AO? I'm curious to hear impressions...
I may try at some point. I settled with the the auteur lambskin perforated. But since I own both lamb skin thick TSP and TP I may give it a go.
Just afraid I like it and have to buy another set of pads. Already 12 and going up 🫠

Keep in mind that ZMF now has "Recommended with" and "Compatible with" recommendations on all the pad listings. None of the Caldera or Caldera-adjacent pads are "Recommended with" or even "Compatible with" the Atrium Open.

Caldera Top Perf Hybrids were "Recommended with" the Verite Closed, and the Caldera Top Perf Thin Proteins were "Compatible with" the Verite Closed... they were such poor, poor matches for my VC that I would not even attempt a pad that isn't on that list.

I'm getting to be like Zeos, to where I am starting to have containers of pads 😂

Whenever you have a nice solution with orderly sorted pads make sure to post it here.

I am already doing that with tubes...
I don't have more room for containers...
No more pads please! Don't recommend more pads! ZMF stop building pads! 🤣🤪

I have now had the Atrium for more than a week, I must say I am extremely impressed. I sold the Utopia OG for it as, specially in the evening, it was a bit too shouty and unforgiving.

I tend to us Radio Shaffle mode when I want to listen to a specific song and not an album. That results in some great trips with the right song and generes as the algorithm picks the next song for me. With other songs, that's really not the case and I usually end up in a path of pain and darkness.

Well, everything sounds so good on the Atrium that I end up listening to and enjoying every "terrible" song the algorithm throws at me. Did not think it was possible. It really is a mesmerizing experience.

Hello people… The Atrium Open have surprised me again... It really shines on the Audio-GD HE9. I know ZMF headphones are known for their pairing with tubes, but this amp may have something to say about it…

I'm hearing bass that is incredibly well defined and deeper than I’ve ever heard before. It truly enhances the technicalities of the treble, yet it’s never piercing. The dynamics and transient response are amazing, with a highly detailed staging and expansive soundstage.

Closing my eyes, I forget I’m listening to a solid-state amp. After nearly two years with only tubes, this has caught me by surprise...

Back in the day I tuned every ZMF with an Audio GD master 11. I still have it! Will need to fire it up soon. Their gear has always been very consistent in performance while being exciting and still very linear.

Bought an Atrium stabilized from a seller here on head fi (described as “perfect condition”) and it looks like the lacquer near the connector is chipped. What are my options? Should I be concerned about internal damage?

That sucks, sorry! Sorry didn't see you got it used. I'd ask the seller to refund you and take it back, especially if it was described as perfect condition. If you're really attached to the overall look of that specific unit, i'm sure ZMF can repair it for you for a fee. The seller should pay the fee IMO. Hopefully you paid as goods/services so you have a chargeback option. Even if the seller doesn't want to take it back you can file a chargeback and hopefully get refunded. For sure report the seller and leave negative feedback. They should not be selling here.
