I have a question about the zero dac unit.


I cannot read all the pages of the other thread so I am going to post my specific questions here:

I am confused about the upgrade version and the old version. Some have said the transformer is upgraded whilst others state the opamps are changed.
whats the difference?

I am not going to use the headphone output but the analogue output straight into the power amp. Can the upgraded version still vary the volume through the rca output to control my power amp?

There are a few sellers on ebay but the only problem is, the units appear to be the older versions so the real issue boils down to what the real differences are and where to purchase?

My understanding is that the "upgrades" you are referring to (transformer and opamp) do not affect the feature that you are asking about. So, the answer to your question is "yes." In fact, I purchased a Zero very recently from Lawrence (a reputable seller) and that feature works as you describe.
