I picked up an extremely clean example of the above radio (all transistors). Since it use to be owned by an smoker I spent a couple of ours cleaning the amp inside and out. Then I cleaned and lubricated the pots, as well as cleaning the variable cap (tuning). At the time I did not have compresed air and all I had was tuner cleaner, and in some of the band there is still a bit of "scratchiness".
So the question is how to better clean the variable cap so when I rotate the tuning knob I do not hear the scratchiness. Later today I will go and get compressed air to assit in the cleaning but I want to make sure I am not missing something.
I will also post some pics of the radio which as I wrote earlier it looks very nice. Thanks.
