I have a Zen Vision:M mp3player and want to use the A/V out as line-out.
According to this site this is how the plug on the cable creative offers for the A/V out is configured:

And this is how a normal mini plug is right?

You can turn off the video on the player. Am I right to think that plugging in a mini - mini cable will be OK? Will the right left and ground be in the right place? I will not damage anything by having no ground or anything?

I'm not good in this sort of thing and I know this is about a portable player but I thought I'd ask here because you guys know all about cables and plugs and all.

Thanks,
Lisa

I guess you already made sure that the two plugs have the same total length, and an equivalent overall shape to the eye. Given this, the only thing to worry about would be that the video output of the player would likely be shorted to ground when plugging in a normal audio jack like that of a mini->rca interconnect. If you can turn off the video, that should (quite probably) be OK too. Now all that's left would be seeing if it works
