yea yea i know i'm comparing a 5gb mp3 player to a 20gb mp3 players. but please lets look beyond this and compare other aspects. the differences i've gathered so far are:
id3 vs file tree system
screen on main unit vs screen on remote only

i need to make up my decision soon cuz if i want the extra battery for the zen micro i have to get one of the first 35,000.

I couldn't afford the M3 when I was shopping but it appeared to me, to be superior to virtually every other player out there. It is a mass storage device, it has folder file browsing, battery life is good, to excellent on the M3L, the sound quality is great, the form-factor is great, and I've haven't heard a single person complain about the reliability. If I had the money I would have taken the M3 over any player on the market.

The Micro appears to be the "hot" one right now but the thing that gets me is that 5GB size. In the end, I can't see myself getting anything less than 20GB so I'd favor the M3. Having said that, my travel season is over and I can wait until the M5 hits...if it ever does. For some reason, when I think about taking the plunge, that one keeps popping up in my mind. If I had to make a decision today and had only those two as my choices AND the size(5 vs 20) wasn't important to me, I'd probably go Micro based on what I've read. Haven't heard either of them so I suppose my "opinion" isn't worth much.
