zen micro firmware

does anyone know if the new 1.02.05 firmware on creative's site still supports mediasource? there other 2.xx firmwares made me use wmp, which i hate

Yeah it supports MediaSource. It's basically the same as the old 1.xx firmware, just an improved volume bar and lock icon, and the ability to have 4 GB of removable storage.

I did. There's really no major need to, but I felt it would nice to have the ability to have 4GB of removable storage.

The new volume bar is just the same thing, with dotted lines instead of the shadowy looking lines on the side of it. The lock icon is just darker.

I upgraded to it and noticed it being a bit more sluggish than usual. What are your experiences of it like?

My experience seems to be telling me not to upgrade unless I'm not happy with my current firmware.

And I find nothing to be unhappy about 1.01.03

Mine's been running perfectly fine. That's strange that it would be more sluggish...did you try a disk cleanup?

i'll probably update it later today... i just don't want to have the same problems i did last time with updating firmware. is this one currently reversible to 1.01.03?

I agree: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"

The only upgrade I've made to my Zen was the first patch that made the touch response better. I've been fine with the software regarding transferring files, so I do not want to mess things up with an upgrade unless it's absolutely necessary.

yup. CBR, ABR, and VBR all work fine.

Sure did, same problem. It doesnt bother me too much, maybe the next firmware upgrade will fix it.
