I'm curious approximately what dB is a Z-5500 at 1 bar at half a meter (1.5 feet) away, sound card outputting maximum volume? How many dB does every bar add? Anyone tested maximum volume before?

You need to buy a sound pressure meter. Ignore what the display is displaying and look at the sound pressure meter. Due to differences in material -20dB may be different in volume to another CD or DVD. And that's with the system calibrated to 75dB, so 0dB on the processor would equal Dolby's reference level (which is too loud) but like I said movie might be loud, and another might not be.
