the audio was cutting out on my yuin pk3s and was able to pinpoint the problem to the plug. i snipped the old plug off and exposed the wires. the right side has a red wire and copper wire. the left has a blue wire and copper wire. do i splice the two copper wires together? i had my ipod playing and i tried touching each wire to every part of this new switchcraft plug and i got no sound from either channel. has anybody had any luck in replacing the plug on his or her yuins? thanks!

Most small wire portables have enamel coated wires. You can burn it off with a soldering iron and some solder to get bare wire for soldering onto a connector.

And you're right about the red=right blue=left copperx2=gnd, unless Yuin messed up (unlikely, but you can check with the wires on the plug side)
