Did anyone else receive the e-mail advertising the limited edition Shure t-shirt with the purchase of such and such a product? The one that reads "My Earphones Cost More Than Your (then there is a picture of an mp3 player)" I love my Shure earphones, but give me a break... what kind of elitist garbage is that?

Am I the only one that thinks marketing a shirt like that is completely inappropriate?

Reminds me of this situation.

First fellow to receive the iPhone in Hong Kong. Apple even gave him that shirt he's wearing.

IIRC, a few Head-Fi members got that shirt during some Head-Fi meet where a Shure rep was involved awhile ago.

But yeah, IMO it just goes past the point of edgy humor and flies into the tasteless category. I can't even imagine wearing that in public. Not because you may get mugged, but because you're openly bragging how much money you spent on something that few can understand (or want to), and you're just giving high-end audio a bad rep of snobbery.

I want one with "My Earphones Cost More Than Your (then there is a picture of an mp3 player)" on the front and "Now I need to eat Ramen for the next 9 months - Join Team Ramen!" on the back

I think we are just missing their (nonexisting) fun...

You'd be surprised at how many people think having expensive headphones makes them better than others

On the social ladder, we're about two steps above emo kids who sniff paint

They can't afford glue but they can afford paint.

It's funny when you talk about wanting that shirt on these forums- but actually having one is tasteless.

How bad is the economy? Ive seen emo kids standing at traffic lights, waiting for the light to turn red and sucking the exhaust from the stopped cars.
