Im always interested to see if people have something that I havent already found...
List your top five and maybe one extra that you think is a rare find.
Mine:
1)"Mezzanine"-Massive Attack (and every other of their albums)
2)"Homogenic"-Bjork (some might argue this is more electronic/experimental)
3)"A New Stereophonic Sound Spectacular"-Hooverphonic
4)"Dummy"-Portishead
5)"Lamb"-Lamb

Gus Gus-"Polydistortion" is killer too...
Anyone listen to Smith and Mighty??

hmmmm.
Basically named for "Trippy" Hip-Hop beats (lower BPM's).
However, its usually associated with a female singer (yes, there are plenty of exceptions) and electronic influences. The sound originated in Bristol, England.
Whats great about Trip-Hop, is that there really are no boundaries. Literally, any instrument can be used, but mainly in a "chill" manner.
Its music for all tastes; I highly recommend you start with ANY Massive Attack album.

I think thats more "Blip-Hop"-intelligent, electronically influenced hip-hop instrumentals. If you like that sort of thing (i love it) check out OMID, RJD2, PREFUSE 73 and of course DJ SHADOW.

I like this thread! Massive Attack and Hooverphonic were two of my favorite bands for some time, and new suggestions that have the same basis are pretty cool.

If you're inclined to, as you're doing something like uhm shrooms listen to some Hooverphonic with a nice bass.

There is a new hooverphonic album coming out, I believe?

1. Tricky - Maxinquaye
2. Bjork - Post
3. Alpha - Stargazing
4. Massive attack - Mezzanine
5. Portishead - Dummy

I'm generally more for oldschool triphop, but that alpha album is absolutely slick and smooth as ice.
