Which is better: an ingeniously structured novel with boring characters and a trite story, or a rambling, discursive novel with intriguing characters and a compelling story? I will always take equipment that sounds "right" to me (as hard as that is to quantify) over equipment that tests spectacularly and sounds lifeless. Which probably explains why I love Grados so much. My understanding is that their designers tune the cans by ear, rather than trying to generate a ruler-flat response curve. Works for me! |
