I grew up rather isolated small farming community with no high school , I was sent to an all girls boarding school the only piece of happiness was the Ipod and music selected by a much older cousin my gran gave to me. The music was dated lots of 80's and Rock mostly alien to me as we listened mainly to classical , choral and some traditional music at home. The three albums that are still favourites was U2- Joshua Tree , Sinead O'Connor - Lion and Cobra and Fleetwood Mac - Tango in the Night. My library expanded but my introduction to music other than classical made me not just listen to the most popular at the time. The ability to get lost in the music to be totally immersed made me happier and more sociable. To this day to really listen to music I need to use a headphone above speakers. The only other circumstance where I really got lost in the music was during a gap year spent in Berlin clubbing the sound overwhelmed for the first few weeks.
