For me it gotta be Leon S. Kenedy from the RE series. As a second pick I would say Alex Mason from the COD BO series.

Like Leon a lot. I am playing their RE4R on Professional difficulty and also through RE8 again. I am a huge fan of Garrett from the first 3 Thief games. The 4th game from 2014 sold terribly and was just a shadow of the first 3 games.

Interestingly that was the intention of the developers. They wanted a guy that could be any of us; as they actually put it: just a guy in a t-shirt.

I luv his interaction with Mei Ling and the other women in the game. MGS1 was the best Solid Snake characterizations IMO.

Ichiban Kasuga​

I like his character and his background story. First name is Ichiban, lol. I think in general, audiences like characters like Ichiban as a protagonist since personality like that is easier to emphasize with. That's what you really want in a main charater. Same thing with Manga, Slam Dunk. You have a main protagonist that that has a similar characters. It just makes the character more colorful and interesting.

I like Minoto and Utsushi's dialog dynamics. English does a bad job of expressing. I wish MH would put in character dialogs like this in their games. Minoto and Hinoa, although are twins, have different personalities. When you start riding out with Minoto, her dialog is really funny. It's funny because she has a stern character in general, don't expect her to have reactions like that.

Since I'm enjoying Ragnorok at the moment, I will list Kratos as another good video game character, although I find him very cliche of a character. I just found his style very typical western Macho whatever. Very stereotypical, and very uninteresting due to this. However, his combat moves makes him look really cool! That's what's going for the character, how brutal he is during combat, and looks cool.



I just don't find his character very interesting, but this one gave me a chuckle. They should do more stuff like this. If they make his character with some humor like this and humanize him adding dimensions, I would appreciate better. Freya scolded him for not taking care of the wolves, and he talks to the wolves very awkwardly. It shows off his character. This quote frames it perfectly.


I like it when movies/games express their characters to develop it.
