How about have already spent? My wallet is in pain as am I from my wife....no, not that kind of pain!!!

I wonder what would be the dollar amount spent on "systems" (cans, amps, ICs, beer whilst listening...)?

I can't understand those marketing clowns.
I want to see a R 9.9, without costly wooden parts, without an expensive box, not handpolished by buddhist monks in the state of nirvana, not soaked with the odor of japanese virgins, 500 USD.
The well known effects of economies of scale would probably increase their profits, and we would love them despite their infamous low-fi products.

Yes, it's called the CD3000.

Heheh, they don't sound alike, but the CD3000 definitely is a mass production version of the R10's industrial design.

Oh, and I voted $500-$1600, because I would prefer to spend less than what I paid for my R10's.

It cost me a bit more than that range.

I would really probably go as far as $2500, but that would be stretching it, as I've already stretched pretty far.....

Hahah, it's only expensive if you insist on only buying tremendously limited edition headphones...

I'm surprised you didn't get the green L3000...

And luckily for me, the PS-1 falls right between the 900-1600 category..

Tough price break as the O2 cost $1600, and I assume the O3, if and when it comes out, will cost a little more. I voted for the $1600-4000 category, but am very low, more like the $1600-2000 category. I will sell off the O2 to get the O3, which should make the difference in price about $200-500, which is affordable.

Considering what I've heard from the R10 and SR007, I'd say 1600-4000 or even more, depending on just how ultimate they are. Considering how much even a decent set of speakers and amps would cost, I can see it being worthwhile. Not that I could afford them any time soon, but hey "ultimate" doesn't happen overnight.

true... I need to stop collecting these tremendously limited edition headphones. but then, only a few more to go.

when I got them, I liked how the regular ones look more than the green edition. the green ones are not bad though, they are starting to grow on me... run away before it is too late my wallet!!

Unless the price drops below the self-imposed $1500 limit.

I voted for $1600-$4000.

I would quite willingly spend this amount and more for a great natural, and detailed sounding headphone, as I prefer my headphone rig over my speakers.

Best wishes,

Paul.

Though I try not to limit myself financially when buying things I love, it can be a necessity when one is simply trying to survive in this world. I have heard some of the best system around and I still have my sub-$200 cans. Of course I covet the K1000/RKV and HD650/BlockHead, but in the end of the day my present system is completely satisfying and enables me to appreciate the music I love. I'd prefer to have 3 headphones that excel in various circumstances than a single headphone that is simply good with every genre. However, if such a utopian headphone existed that performed amazingly with all musical types then I would sell all my cans and plunk down the necessary $1000. That is the most I could spend on a pair of headphones at this time in my life. Viva la HD580!
