You people promote evil behavior

I joined this site almost exactly a year ago, since then I've gone through:

Game Theater XP
Senn HD590
Corda HA-1
M-Audio Revo
Radioshack Fusions
Beyer DT770 pro
Grado SR325
M-Audio Delta 410
Heartland Belden IC's
NEC 3XP+
smART DI/O with bolder PSU
Gilmore V1
RME Digi 96/8 PAD
Headphile Standard Silvers and Blacksilvers
Senn HD600 (twice!) +Equinox
AKG K271S + Zu and Equinox
Headroom Max
Sony CD3000

And this is all from a college student with little employment. You can only imagine how much damage I'd have done with a real salary. It is safe to say that something about the audio hobby and this site are very addictive.

You coerced me to give the AKG K-1000's a try...

And look what happened! I am going to the NY meet!

Don't blame me, thank me

for all the $ you'd save just trying stuff out. Just aim for the top, purchase, then forget. It's great to try a bunch of stuff out at one. The meet will be supurb. Hopefully the K1000 setup will be better than before.

I'm looking to upgrade.

Your first upgrade should be either the flat or bowl pads. Or you can mod the comfies that they come with by cutting a hole in the center approx. the size of a silver dollar.

mmh?

I'm thinking HFI-650, AKG 271S, ER4P/S, E5.

The bowl+flats will be at least $45 shipping... it's not terribly economical.

(not that totally new headphones are, either, but. *cough*)

The Equinox was a mild upgrade, it added a bit of clarity/detail, and made the treble smoother.

The Zu was a fairly decen upgrade, as the bas extension and slam got quite a bit better, as did the detail (slightly better than the Equinox), and treble smoothness, and a slightly more forward midrange.

The Equinox is not worth the cost, by far IMO. The Zu cable is a buch better deal for the money.

Yes, audio equipment WILL make you poor.

I have spent plenty of money in the past few months on equipment.. not to mention the amount of music CD's I have now bought thanks to me being able to easily tell the difference between mp3 and cd audio now with my Beyer DT531
