YKYAA when you care more about how the gear sounds than the music. (Since we're not here about enjoyment)

listening to music is stupid, you should just use white noise exclusively to appreciate the neutrality of your rig

You know you're an audiophile when you're a person who is especially interested in high-fidelity sound reproduction. So says dictionary.com.

This happened yesterday: After getting quite used to headphones with a good soundstage I lay down for a nap with some long unused IEMs. A few mins later I was distracted by how the sound felt like it was coming from inside my head, how wrong it felt and how I wished it would get out. YKYAA when you have to face the fundamental limitations of IEMs.

Way to kill the fun.

YKYAA when you're the best at physics in the class, and get excited when the teacher says you're going to be doing waves.
