You Know You're an Audiophile When.. Version 2!

BHSE is roughly $6000, maybe $6500 (what's an extra $500 at that level? ha!). I want to hear the Liquid Lightning first (it's around $4500 or so) because it's a more colored sound. BHSE with SR-009 is supposed to be a reference statement in terms of transparency on headphones. But who knows, I might enjoy the colored and cheaper solid state LL more.

Stax amps top out around $2000 or so. Every shootout and review I have read about them has them as horribly inferior to the two 3rd party amps above, plus they look really unimpressive (the LL and BHSE look dead sexy). I have heard they don't have enough power to drive the SR-007 and SR-009 properly (especially the SR-007).

Whoa. When will I ever get to that level?

I might jump straight to high ends speaker then. Electrostat speakers sound awesome! Too bad they cost as much as a house.
2 Electrostat+2 Monoblock amp+Summit-fi DAC=a house.

YKYAAW you sell your house for the reasons above.

I guess it depends. The best electrostat set up I've heard costed about $130,000 usd.

*Starts removing left kidney and auctioning on eBay*
YKAAW you purchase a house and rent it out so that you can use the income from rental on audio gears :D

Genius idea! That could work, haha...all just for audio...Some dedication one would have.
Don't think a house alone would be enough.

All I want is just RSA Dark Star to power my cans & Ressonessence Invicta as the source... is that too much to ask?

Damn it. Why can't I have all the money in the world?

:frowning2: I should quit whining. I really shouldn't complain with all I have.

haha if you have all the money in the world, what about the others? what about jude? what about John Grado, Jerry.H how can they have fund to invest on new audio gears? :p

Oh, I always tell myself that once I got Sennheiser HE90 and HEV90 as my home rig and a Abyss headphone + a high end portable DAC/amp + FiiO X5, I will end my audio journey xD

Genius idea! That could work, haha...all just for audio...Some dedication one would have.

Yes! Buy 3 house and rent it all out :D 1 for audio gears fund, 1 for you and family to survive and another one is to save for another house because you will soon find that 1 house is not enough to fund for your audio gears xD

Lol. That'd be a steady way to gather audio gears!

And sign up to all of those pay-for-you-to-watch-ads services, that give 0.01 cents per ad. You'd need a LOT of those to buy an HE90.

Oh but the "house plan" may be too late. It should be done before we took the audio pill as for the first 5-10 years, your rental income go into the monthly instalment...

YKYAAW you are forever saving for more/better audio gears..

Or you could just get a decently paid job, not waste too much money and save for a reasonable amount of time, and buy some cans.

Sr009 doesn't need that much power actually
