So this new kid in the block is like a ticking time bomb.
Non-guaranteed QC & support with manuals and instructions in a language half the world don't understand.
Basically shooting yourself in the foot for daring this purchase.

Or you shoot something in your pants at how good it sounds knowing others have bought hyped, fake sponsored review devices :D

Don't forget guys when you upgrade the firmware (same platform Android 6 to 6 or 9 to 9) you can untick flashing userdata and it will keep all your settings/apps. If you keep userdata ticked its like doing a factory reset.

Would be super cool if you tried DSD playback in both HiBy music and Neutron, as I still have inconsistent behavior with DSD files on my A2 in these players(
Also, when you get to playing DSD, could you please pay attention to the hardware side screen indication: whether it is "/P" or "/D" after the "Gain" and what is the Filter number. Aside from what HiBy or Neutron displays on the main screen, I mean

I found the DSD ISO Someone sent me to test on some other dap, its god awful music argghhhh :D Both Neutron and Hiby Displayed DSD as the Output and the OLED display said D

Linsoul answered me, they suggest me to update to the new firmware published on the Yinlumei site, and that if that does not work they will certainly offer me a refund with a return of the player...
I replied again that the player does not turn on at all and that when I try to update, I have an error message (I have attached a screenshot), certainly a memory or motherboard problem, anyway as soon as i received this player it had a functional problem...
I await their response now ... It's a shame because the sound quality of this player pleased me a lot and now I'm going to fall back on my A1 and maybe after I would buy a Fiio M11 pro or Hiby R6pro ...

Not sure if you have noticed but there is a tiny reset hole under the microsd socket, i tried a sim card eject pin and there is a reset button there. I suspect its performing a Mediatek soc reset similar to shorting 2 points out the board of a Mediatek soc phone when it won't turn on.

Hold it in for a few seconds and let go. Then try turning it on. You might have to give it some juice in the DAC usb-c if the soc is hung it will be draining battery.

p.s. Hang in there, Sound quality of the A2 is exceptional and is beyond some players twice the price. Not just sound, features and speed, maybe not prettiness :)

@Nayparm,
Thanks a lot for testing DSD! What I see is promising. Now all I need is to manage to update the firmware)

One really fantastic sounding powerful fast DAP that just maybe the most compatible with hires apps player yet...

This is a stack inside one box, the DAC amp section operates independently (you even switch it on seperately) So the DAC appears an SA9227 USB Audio device.

Sounds better than M15, Faster than M15, Google Play/Services, More hires Apps to choose from.

Works flawlessly in USB mode with all tried so far:
UAPP
Neutron
Hiby
Onkyo HF Player

Man, I really like that Ouroboros Glorification of a myth album.

Considering the DSD playback on A2 in the USB DAC mode: I've made my A2 play dsf, dff and SACD ISO files (up to DSD 256 in Native mode and up to DSD 128 in DoP mode) on Windows 10 only via one software player. Neither selecting WASAPI DSD, nor ASIO output worked out when using my favourite and seasoned Foobar2000. All the other software players also produced distorted choppy sound with chirps. Have not come across a free DSD-capable player for Linux to try out.
How about you, guys? Has anyone tried DSD on A2 in USB DAC mode?

No sorry, not tried it, but in my defence I don't think i've ever tried DAC mode on any DAP :D
Fine:) I guess, I'm the only one bothered by this issue. Luckily, A2 sounds cool when playing ordinary PCM, so there is no big deal here if you don't use DSD. However, DSD I tried sound quite "airy" and pleasant, which, of course can be ascribed to an overall good quality of the records and not the format itself (personally, I'm not much fond of high res recs of more than 24 bit 48 kHz resolution)

Hello friends, is this dap really the M15 killer? Serious question because I'm considering going from DX228 to M15 for a warmer sound and faster system.

Thanks!
Hello, alavenue. Unfortunately, I have not auditioned M15 yet, but had a chance to compare my A2 with Lotoo Paw Gold Touch recently. I found Touch to sound warmer in the lows domain (bass is punchier, drier and faster on A2 with the Filter 3 "Short delay sharp roloff" if I'm not mistaken, and Touch had the same filter on) with the highs being more sibilant-prone (not sibilant up to sound unpleasant, more leaning toward the sibilance though) and accentuated on the Touch (with that, the highs were not more detailed on the Touch, just more accentuated). Partially owing to that, the mids sounded fuller, detailed and "warmer" on the A2. Thus, it is for one to decide whether the overall sound signature of Touch is warmer than that of the A2 (warmer in bass, but hard to decide for the overall). However, selecting another digital filter on A2 does change the sound a bit.
I listened to DX200 a bit with the stock amp a while ago, but the memories are too blurred to compare it to my A2 now :frowning2:
Hope it will help you somehow:) All in all, you'd better give the M15 a listen yourself to decide if it's what you want.

I had the same thoughts as you so I bought the m400 instead.

The YinLuMei m400 is a simpler dac/amp with no need for an Operating system if you want something future proof.

It stands equally with my Chord Hugo 2 for plug-n-play. Though the m400 has only 5 hours battery life.

It is very small profile and no background noise.
Hi Infoseeker,

I am looking for a mobile solution for balanced and unbalanced to drive Denon D7200, Toneking 9 Tale, TDK IE800
Balanced I use E1DA 9038s and I am happy.
Coming from RME ADI 2 DAC as stationary solution, the question is now what mobile solution I should choose for balanced mode?
Read some good things about Yinlvmei S2 , I found the M400.
Is it woth the extra 300€ over S2?
Because there arent much reviews, I aks myself if this is really on Hugo 2 Level.
